You may have had troubles, but your Rose turned out spectacular! Well worth the effort!!

Based on someone's suggestion in another topic, I got a roll of cotton and a roll of silk from Amazon, but I haven't even opened them yet. They are just waiting for a new project sometime. Sorry, I'm not any help, either!

Norma! Your rose is beautiful! My photo fabrics usage was inspired by Gwen Marston's "Fabric Picture Books". A few years ago I started making an 8 - 12 page fabric book for the each of the family babies for Christmas. I quickly found out that they were interested for longer periods of time if their pictures were included. As you can see by the attachments some are no longer babies, but they still expect to have a fabric book each Christmas showing some of their activities during the year. I have used fabric sheets previously with varied results. I thank all of you for your responses to my question. I think both twill and poplin rolls deserve a try this year and a side by side comparison.

Charae - Your books are beautiful! I can understand why they are popular, even as the kids grow up. What wonderful memories to keep forever and pass on to the next generation. Can you imagine having these books about your parents or grandparents? What fun!!

Norma, that rose quilt is stunning! I totally agree with everyone else, it was worth the effort

Charae, thank you for posting those photos Just like Renata, I'm getting some ideas already. I'll have to make somenthing like that for my kids. I'm going to look for Gwen's book. I have several of her Liberated Quilmaking books and took 2 of her workshops a couple of years ago in Springfield, MO. She's a great teacher! On my bucket list is attending one of her retreats at Beaver Island.

Thanks! You are all so supportive. Nancy--I have enclosed a page from another fabric book based on your comment. My nephew sent me this drawing over 30 years ago -- back when people used to mail letters back and forth. I ironed the almost permanently creased notebook paper as much as possible, transferred it to photo fabric and included it as a page in his son's book. Both my nephew and his son were delighted.

These books for kids are the greatest ideas. Are the rolls of fabric you are getting from Amazon specifically for printing pictures? Did I miss something?

First of all thank you for all your nice comments. The rose is going to it's new home on Sunday. It's a birthday present for a friend.

Charae, you're photo books are over the top. Love the colors you put around the photos and the way you follow a theme.
