I have had my Sew Ezi table for about six years and I love it! I take it to classes and retreats. I have the insert for my featherweight and Bernina as well as a clear one to use as a light box. It is easy to change out the posts when changing machines and I LOVE being able to wheel my table where it needs to go!

My sewing table arrived, with the insert. Seems ok except that the insert does not fit down into the hole. It is about 1/4 inch too big and rests on top of the table! I ordered a Pfaff and a Janome insert and they are both that way. This is the Gidget table- anyone have one of these and can tell me if that is the case with yours? Is there a way to make the insert not move around? Kathy

Kathy, call the company you ordered it from!! That is NOT what you paid for, and it shouldn't be your responsibility to adjust it!!

Hi Margo, I agree. I called the sewing machine store where I ordered it but Tim isn't in today and the person who was there didn't know anything about the tables. I will call when Tim is there- doesn't seem right to me either. There is a video on the Arrow website that might show what they look like. Perhaps this is the way they are made? I'm not sure why they would make an insert that would fit OVER the top of the opening. Kathy

Kathy, every insert on that table should fit absolutely flush with the opening. Tell Tim it's not his fault, but you expect it to be sorted out by them, and that you are very sorry that he has to deal with somebody else's mistake. Any problems, give Margo or me his phone number and we'll sort him out.

Gosh Lorchen, I would gladly pay for your airline ticket to California to see you in action!. I googled the manufacturer website, and it appears that the insert does not fit flush but rides over the top of the table. :x Caveat Emptor? I wonder if the Sew-Ezi table has that same feature? It did not occur to me to check this out before hand, I just assumed that it would be so. And if I ground off the edge of the insert, it would fit DOWN into the top about an eighth inch below. Fortunately, mom can sew with it this way. And she can use my Sweet Sixteen sit down to quilt large stuff if need be.

Word to the wise, I guess!

Anyway her quilt studio aka sewing room looks much better now with lots of room.

NO!!!!! Sew-Ezi fits flush with the table and I have one to fit my Husky and one for Kathy's Bernie. I would send the whole thing back. How is that a help if the insert is not an insert and just floats around?

I agree, I would send it back. I love my Sew Ezi table, too. It worked out great when we were living in the RV and now I have it set up in my sewing room with my second machine on it.

Hi - I have a Gidget table with two inserts. The Gidget table doesn't have supports for the inserts inside the hole, so the inserts need to sit on the table so they don't fall through. However, the inserts I have fit into the hole so they don't slide around and are tapered around the edges so the quilt moves smoothly. My inserts work great. I don't remember where I bought my table, but Arrow sounds familiar. I just looked at my inserts and they are made by Dream World Inc. I really love my Gidget table.

This just sounds like a total hassle. I would send the whole thing back, and get a refund. Put the charge on dispute on your credit card (I hope you used a credit card!!!) So sorry you are dealing with this.

The Sew Ezi table works great! Inserts fit down flush and the table is very sturdy. The only possible thing is that each machine has a different height from feet to bed, so you have to set the little rods that hold the lower shelf to the right height for the machine you are using. Not a problem just make sure you follow the directions so the bed of the machine is flush.

I am so glad to read all your comments about the different tables. I have been thinking about getting a sew-ezi table and I had seen the Gidget table too but wasn't sure which might be better. I think that Kathy's experience has clinched it for me. Thanks for letting us know how you have got on Kathy.

Mmmmmhhhh.... My Sew Ezi inserts sit absolutely flush with the top. See picture. I'd be very tempted to send that other table back. A little ridge like you describe would annoy me constantly.

And because that picture is rather boring, I'm adding one of a pincushion I made a while ago. The base is a small flower-shaped artist palette, and the little puffy balls are glued into each of the wells.
