sewing machine tables
I'm looking for a sewing machine table for my Mom's sewing machine. Her machine is currently sitting on top of a regular table, with one of those acrylic extension tables around it. The sewing surface is pretty high for her. I see the Sew Ezi table advertised- has anyone used one of those? That one would allow the surface of the machine to be flush with the table, which would be better.
I don't want to buy a Horn or Koala cabinet- they are too big for what I need. I have my Janome in my sewing room in a Horn cabinet that is perfect for that situation, but it wouldn't work in my Mom's sewing room.
Thanks for any advice, KathyTags: None

Hi Kathy,
I have a Husqvarne 118 and they don't make an extension table for it which is really frustrating, I have a Janome 6600 and that is in a Horn cabinet and I thought the extention table that came with that would fit the Husqvarna in some way but of course it doesn't.
I have seen the Sew Ezi tables and they seem pretty good but at a £160.00 it's too much for me, but they are very portable and would be good for a small space.
Good luck
Anne

Another happy Sew Ezi tablem owner. I was surprised how sturdy it is when I got it. I originally wanted it for when I take a machine to workshops and events, but my Bernina 220 sits so nicely in it, that it's permanently out. It's great to be able to get a versatile table for an affordable price. From the edge of Sherwood Forest, home of Robin Hood

I bought a Sew Ezi table in Houston this year. I really like it. I do a lot of sewing in the family room while Greg and I watch tv (we watch a lot). Our house is also on the market and the table makes it really easy to sew and pack everything away when we need to show the house. I'll probably take it on retreat in March.

Wow, thank you all for your replies! I went over to my local sewing machine dealer, and he had the Gidget table that looked pretty good, so I ordered one, with 2 inserts. One for the Pfaff and one for the Janome. The two tables look very similar and seemed sturdy. I wont be taking the machine out of the table much, and my mom doesn't make ginormous quilts, so it ought to work out quite well. I noticed that the Gidget table has about 6 inches of room at the right of the table that you can put your "stuff" on, which is more than my Horn cabinet has!
It's good to have friends who know the answers to my questions

I am so impressed with the Sew Ezi Dealer in the US. Granted, we are both in California, BUT I ordered mine Saturday afternoon through their website and had delivery by Wednesday. Really impressive since Monday was a holiday for a lot of people. I haven't had time to set it up yet so I can't tell you how much I love the table, but this company doesn't let grass grow!
