    ELENORE'S BLOCK????

Elenore said the block she made was based on a traditional block. I do not recognize it and can not find it in Encyclopedia of Pieced blocks. Does anyone know the name....

    Driving me nuts.

"based" on a traditional block. Why don't you email her and ask?

I don't know the name of the block, but if you wanted to make it. it's easy enough to draw as Eleanor gives you all the measurments in the video.
Another good way of using up scraps.

I don't know what traditional block it is based on either - maybe it's just a 4-patch! However, she does demonstrate how to do it on one of her shows so maybe it's mentioned there. Here's a link:

I have written to Eleanor to ask about Fabric Frenzy block and the quilt we used as a backdrop for the photo with Alex and Ricky. I will post the names as soon as we hear back from her.

I have noted the tendency for QUILT DESIGNERs ( Elenore is not the only one to do this; it seems to be a common practice.) to use traditional blocks as the basis for their work then renaming the quilt to something different. I think we are loosing OUR QUILTING HISTORY when this happens. I would like to read block names as part of the directions. ... something like AKA: Monkey Wrench, drunkard path, etc. I can understand if someone does not know the name but to ignore the original names does our quilting ancestors a dis-SERVICE.
