Ok I'll see if this works? If it does...Want to help me name him??

Hey there he is in the preview!! What you think of him?
Thinking he may be the main character in my cloth kids book layout for a contest I might enter if I get it done in time.

    Margo Thanks!

Errrrm - I'm better at making things than naming them, but how about 'Eightfold' (Eightfold Petal might not be suitable for a boy  ) I'll carry on thinking though.

        P.S. Isabeau suggests 'Crazy Monkey'

Nan, your monkeys are adorable! I admire your talent! I'm so glad you posted a picture!

The quilt pattern I was looking for uses four different colorings of the snail's trail block. When they are arranged properly in the quilt each monkey is formed by one each of the four possibilities. Each of those blocks also contributes to another monkey and some of the background. The tails are appliqued as well as the eyes, nose, mouth. The head and ears are further defined by the quilting. Three of the four colorings are:

I am no expert on quilt blocks, either, but I believe a snail's trail can also be referred to as a monkey wrench. They are at the least very similar. Many blocks are known by several names.

Not sure what their playing ....up to some monkey business I'm sure.

              Named my fabric Monkeyin Around.
In a small repeat it almost looks like flowers instead of Monkeys.

I finished the monkey quilt in time for Debbie's birthday but I have finally gotten photos downloaded so I can post them.

thank you all for your help in looking for the pattern! It was fun to piece. I made a cuddle quilt instead of the twin size.

wow - absolutely fabulous lynn - love it
i was planning on making a flower-fairy quilt for my niece - she's totally into fairies at the moment - at age 7 1/2 what a surprise.
but she's been completely and totally in love with monkey since her first birthday when my older brother (her godfather) gave her a big monkey - (baby axle - and he's a she... i keep getting told) - so i think i might just have to rethink and take up your great idea ....
love it - it's really really really fabulous

I had fun piecing the snails trail blocks. So glad I finally re-found the pattern in the magazine! I wish I had made it more scrappy, I was trying to use up a certain part of my stash when I should have been paying more attention to variety. :? Live and learn. Debbie loves it so everything is fine. Lottie, I look forward to seeing what you end up making for your niece! Thanks for all the nice comments!
