So they can charge more in some countries (ie UK) than others (USA) and we are unable to beat the system by buying them on holiday in the States because they won't work when we get back home. 'They' don't want things to be too compatible because they want to make sure that you stick to their brand, and keep their prices high where possible.

A concern that I did not think of until I talked to my hubby.... Will the NORTH AMERICAN format work on your DVDs. I know DVDs are formatted for different regions and you have to have a compatible DVD. If you have played other DVDs made for N Am then you should be good to go.... but you might want to check into it.

Thank you for the interest everyone!

To clarify, we are now shipping internationally! http://www.whyquiltsmatter.org/welco...tional-orders/

The DVDs are in NTSC format and are playable in all regions, so they will play in all DVD players and computer DVD drives. Note though that there are two different television standards for DVD, NTSC and PAL. NTSC is the standard used in North America and Japan. PAL is the European standard. All computer software DVD players will play both NTSC and PAL discs. PAL DVD players will play NTSC discs, but they do not convert to PAL. Most modern PAL televisions can display the unconverted signal. The only scenario in which someone will be unable to play the NTSC DVD is if they have a PAL television that cannot handle the NTSC signal.

          I hope this helps!
