AccuQuilt Go On Sale at Joann Fabrics

Hi! I'm just looking for opinions and help making a decision about the AccuQuilt Go. Joann Fabrics is having a sale on them this week. They are regularly $349 and Joann's is advertising them for $199. You have to special order them. That's a great savings. I just got the GoBaby as a gift in December and haven't used it yet, but I am planning on it because I discovered I like to applique and make strips! I thought I'd start small, but this looks like a good deal?! I have dies to go with the Baby, but am realizing I may want the bigger dies, because they maybe more useful to me for stripping. What do you all think? Thanks Lesley (a relatively new quilter!)

    Check out this blog

scroll down and she talks about the accuquilt go, the sizzix machine, as well as whether you need a machine at all. Lots of good info. Personally, I just ordered a Sizzix Big Shot (also on sale at JoAnn, for $60) because I think that's what will work best for me. I Haven't got it yet and I have no idea where I'm going to put it, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it Hope this helps. - Tina

Thanks for the link! I did go there, interesting info & lots to consider. I'll probably stick w/ AccuQuilt because I have already purchased the GoBaby.

Oh, Margo, I've drooled over the Silhouette before! Do you have one? The only thing that's kept me from holding out for it is that I've yet to see a quilt made from it. Their site seems more geared towards scrapbooking - someone needs to highjack it for us quilters  Can it cut fabric without a fusible attached? Oh, do I have questions...
I think the Sizzix can cut fabric without a fusible as long as you put a sheet of paper on top to help the blades break through. But, again, I don't have mine yet, so I may be way off here...
Lesley, if the AccuQuilt will work for you, go for it! That's a great price and you'll have tons of fun with it. I like that it folds up to carry along or for storage. That's a plus.
Some day, in the not to far future, no one will need rotary cutters anymore. We'll just input into our computers what we want cut and voila! Perfect, precise, laser cut pieces. Sci-fi quilting...
