I will phone Neil and see what response I get. I will also check with people on the quilting and longarm chat groups that I participate in on Yahoo.

Will get back to you on the results.

How is this woman going to appear publicly - teaching and winning quilt shows? It's sad....I can only feel sorry for whatever has happened.

You have a point about the videos on YouTube. However, those are free to anyone. SSN Premium members paid $140. (returning members) to $180. for a membership to exclusive videos.

I do think it's time for, at least, some answers to inquiries and, if the website is permanently down, a refund to those who paid. I'd put that money to membership extensions to TQS and The Quilting School.

I'll let you know what I find out from whomever responds to my calls/emails.

Don't you guys have any trading standards department either at a local state or national level that you can complain to, who can look inot this on an official level and get some answers for you?

Don't waste your energy, don't lose any sleep. There's nothing you can do to retrieve $180. Or $1800 for that matter. :x

Yes, you can. You can stand next to her quilt at a show and ask her for your money back in person, especially if she has just received another big cheque and the website is still down.

And if you paid by credit card (don't know if that applies to Paypal) you may get your money back because of the protection that credit card payments have (or is that only in Europe?).

I'm movin' on. What would you do - start screaming at her if you saw her? Who knows what the story is. I wish her well - she is not a well person, as you've seen, tremors and all. I'm applying my energies elsewhere. But that's just me. 8)

Just rec'd this answer to an email to Christy Fincher, Sharon's daughter.

"I'm so sorry that I'm just now seeing your email. It was delivered to SPAM. Often, if the subject line is all capitals, the email will be delivered to a SPAM folder.

Neil is working on getting the Network up for members and expects to have it ready in a week. The entire site was a loss, and he's rebuilding from scratch. He does have the videos, as they were backed up off-site, but all else was lost. He has sent out several newsletters updating about the Network. Are you getting those? If not, check your SPAM, as they may have been delivered there. He knows what an inconvenience that the Network being down is, and he will be extending all memberships by 6 months, as well as introducing many new videos.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please, if you have any other questions, email Neil at mailto:[email protected] or me."

So, we'll give the benefit of the doubt and wait and see!

                          Lynn,
Thanks so much for the info! I did email Neil but I used the <admin>[email protected] address. I will email him and let him know that a lot of people aren't getting the newsletters.

I wonder why Gene Schamber didn't tell the gal who asked for the refund what was happening? Or, perhaps he did and she was tired of waiting.

I'll let you know what I hear from Neil.

Good news, indeed. But it's odd that a more concerted effort hasn't been made to update everyone. Her daughter's site is working fine, as is SHARONSCHAMBER.COM So I guess I'm not all that convinced. Still fishy. Still fishy. :? :?
