Two Fabulous New DVD's
I have an ever-expanding quilting DVD collection. This week I received two exceptional ones. This first is from Libby Lehman, produced by Ricky and Justin. Beautifully done, and loaded with Libby learning! Techniques you will see nowhere else. Just gorgeous. The second is by Sue Nickels. She is one of the best teachers out there for machine quilting, among other skills. Sue just lays it out there from start to finish, and shares her techniques, and actually makes you think even you could do it! I'm a nut for quilting videos, and there's not many I don't have, but these two are the best I've seen in a long time. Get 'em!

Got LIBBY LEMAN'S dvd earlier this week... watched it twice but have not tried it.... I keep wondering what kind of machine she has.... I keep wondering what stitch number is the right / left justified zig zag...
I have a Bernina 440 QE and I am hoping I have those stitches. .... I am working through many of the TQS SHOWS and making small sampler of the technique shown.... All the blocks are going to go into a sofa quilt... I will have something to keep me warm and get a lot of experience MASTERING MY MACHINE.

Anna, I don't have Libby's DVD, but I think she uses a Bernina. I also think that when she says left or right justified zig-zag, she just means that she moves the default zig-zag stitch to one side or the other by moving the needle position. Hope that helps.

I am playing with both DVDs.... I have made a few thread play leaves that I plan to work into a quilt I am making for my hubby.
As to Sue Nichols DVD I really liked it except for one aspect...She shows how she handles a large quilt but I am sorry that was a dinky quilt.... I need and want to know how to handle a Queen or King size quilt... Everyone shows small quilts, when they demonstrate. I have yet to see any of the quilt artist showing domestic machine quilting tackle a large quilt. I think it is misleading and I really want to see how the large quilts are done on a domestic.
Other than that Sue Nichols DVD is very informative and I got my moneys worth. It is making a great addition to my DVD library.
