Why do you post on this forum??

I know why I ipost here but I wonder why others might post on this forum? I thought it would be a good thing to think about it and give our reasons.

I will come back to post later today... but there is a quilt that needs the border quilted and it is SCREAMING AT ME.

I agree with Margo. Every part of TQS has become my quilt guild and I rely on it so much for information and for the friendships I have made on this site.

Yep, my guild and I usually only post if I think I can be of help or I need help.

I like to keep up with the forum because it's like a conversation with friends. Every now and then I feel like I might have something to add that helps someone.

I'm pretty new to quilting so I spend a lot more time reading over information than I do posting. I have been learning tons really from every part of the Quilt Show. The forum is fun to read and chalked full of info. I've been posting a little bit more often and hopefully soon I'll have helpful information to share.

Like Margo said...and also, I just find it really fun to exchange ideas with other folks who understand a passion for quilting...and often have the same sense of humor.

Ditto of the same. I also like the International perspective. No matter what time I go onto the forum someone has posted something that may be of help or of interest to me. Libby has given me the name of a shop to go to when we go to Rome in September. Where else could I have gotten that information but the friends I have made on the TQS forum. CJ & Margo know more about my Berninas than most dealers. Their advice has proven most helpful when I got myself into jams. Lorchen has a wicked sense of humour, I would like to meet her some day. TQS Forum rocks. I visit it every day!

I'm sure that can be arranged, Bunny! I retire in about four years. So if I start saving up now I should actually have the time to travel when the time comes.

(Putting tongue into cheek) I don't really understand your comment about 'sense of humour'. I'm German and so I'm not supposed to have that.

When I read Anna's question I wanted to post just two words: 'Why not??'

Seriously though: If you like something you should use it or you'll eventually lose it. But I also have to admit that it would be impossible for me to be active in the forum if most TQS members would post every day or so. There just wouldn't be the time to read everything.

                          Hmmm, I'm German and I think I have a sense of humor--not a wicked one--but I have one.

The reason I posted the original questions as I had been pondering it for a while. I have been going to other forums and the quilters there are all nice but kind of clickish... They often talk amoung themselves and rarely respond to a new poster.

I like the tweaing.. back and forth with LORCHEN and the other ladies here.

I like talking to all kind of quilters, from every country, state and level of ability.

I like the answers I get to some of my dumbest questions.

I like the inspiration from all the beautiful quilts.... You guys even seem to enjoy my poor efforts. I can always get help when I stumble.

I have asked myself... If this forum did not exist... where would I go.... I HAVE NO CLUE! I WOULD PROBABLY BE BORED IN THREE SECONDS FLAT !

Anna, you'd never get bored. You have all those TQS dvds (giggle)!
