What espisode did Ricky demo binding
Recently Ricky demonstrated a technique for putting on a binding using a new ruler/tool. The mitered corners were a breeze with this tool. I have browsed through a couple recent episodes and did not find it looking at the show details. I know it wasn't too long ago, and I know it wasn't from any of my DVDs because my husband was looking over my shoulder and commented on the technique. I only watch my DVDs on my laptop so it has to be a recent show for him to be looking over my shoulder.

I still have not found the demo that Ricky did, but I did find an instruction sheet. Ricky made it alot clearer as I remember his demo, but my husband did a search for where to buy the ruler the day he watched that clip with me... and that was on June 21st. He had the link saved on his computer. So now I can figure out how the tool works, but it still makes me crazy that I cannot find the clip on the Quilt Show website.

Thank you so much for trying to help. It is a Miter Binding Tool by Animas Quilts. I have it figured out now that I found the instruction sheet on their website. I just wish I could have found Ricky's demo on this website. He showed the technique so nicely. If I had bought the tool, which is a type of ruler, I would have had the instruction sheet with it. My husband is pretty handy to have around. He made one for me based on watching that demo, but in my aging brain that is so jam packed with information, I could not remember how to use it. I have to write everything down, then hope I remember where I wrote it.

I don't know the episode number but imagine the ruler was the Animas Binding Miter Tool by Jackie Robinson. It is the one I use every time I bind a quilt. I use it with piped binding. I avoid handwork as much as possible unless it is with an electric needle (sewing machine).

I have used Ricky's piped binding technique with the Animas Binding Tool ever since I attended a Super Seminar in 2007. Love the technique, but I have tweaked my methods a little. Let us know if you need some help, Sallie. I will look again for the episode where Ricky demo-ed it.

Wow Karen, you hit it right on. There was a recent reference to episode #310 regarding applique and I watched it. I was sure it was recent, but I did watch it just a couple weeks ago, so I thought it must have been a current show. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. Mystery solved.
My husband told me not to worry, I had the instructions, but I still was not happy because I could not find Ricky's demo... and I knew it was right under my fingertips and I couldn't find it. I went to the DVD case to look for episode #310 and it was not in the case. It was in my DVD drive, so it was literally just under my fingertips.Lyndhurst, Ohio USA - East Side Suburb of Cleveland, Ohio
