Out of the mouth of babes....

I have been baby sitting a friends little girl (5 years old ) while they are dealing with a family crisis. She likes watching me sew on the machine and I gave her scraps and a needle and thread and she is pretending to make her dolly a quilt. ( Yes, I am helping her and we are making a quilt together for her dollies.)

While I sew I have TQS show playing on the DVD, pretty much non- stop. Chelsea sits near by and plays I did not think she was listening to the DVDs until later today when she starts saying " THAT IS FANNNNN --TASTIC" in practically every conversation she was having. I did not realize where she was picking it up until just a little while ago I am listening to the 500 series DVD and I realize Alex was saying " THAT IS FANTASTIC" to one of the guests who was showing her quilts to the audience.

Ya just never know what kids are absorbing when you do not think they are paying attention to what you are doing.

BTW...CHELSEA has a great color sense and knows how to pick my BEST FAT QUARTERS for her quilt.

Awww, how wonderful. It's a nice thing for her to pick up...I hope you'll post a picture of the dolly quilts and the dolly who is "making" them! Cheers, BJ

I know what you mean when my granddaughter Suzannah was that age she would always want to sew something and always seemed to pick my best fabrics.......now she is 15 years old.....things have changed a bit and yes you don’t realize what they are listening to....while staying with us in February a friend dropped by and we were talking about the latest Bernina 830 in great detail as I had the brochure, about two weeks ago while on the phone and discussing with my daughter Suzannah's birthday in a few months time I said "ask her is there anything in particular she would like" my daughter turned to her and asked, and I could hear Suzannah's reply which was "a Bernina 830 thanks nanna" !!!!

And of course I said no way as far to expensive at about $12000.00, and the 15 year old reply was (which she has gotten from listening to what her mother says to me when I "am playing up") was "yeah but nanna I wont put you in the nursing home like mum says she will".

Dont ya just love em
