NEED IDEAS WITH A FAST --- FAST TODDLER QUILT

I made a small baby quilt for my neighbor's granddaughter when she was born 4 years ago. I need to make her a toddler size quilt cause she won't go to sleep without a "BLANKEY" and the first one I made does not cover her....

Need ideas for something fast that I can make in a weekend... FOR some reason my brain is blank... and even though I have tons of magazines... NOTHING is inspiring me.

I have a HUGE STASH to choose from but it will probably be scrappy ....

    ALL IDEAS ARE WELCOME

Anna, this idea originally came from Bridget. If you have 16 pieces of fabric, this quilt goes together really fast, and the kids absolutely LOVE playing with the matching bean bags! I made a tube of beans so they could "toe the line" and not stand right over the quilt!

I don't think any quilt could be easier than this one http://www.flickr.com/photos/latifah...7623554110253/ and I see no reason why you couldn't use a variety of prints from your stash. Since your quilt will be for a little girl, you could make it extra special embellished with rows of ribbons, lace, and/or rickrack.

Or you could buy a panel and put a border on it. Judy in AZ

You could always make 2 harmonic convergence pieces and stitch them together, put borders on, quick machine applique or just use a fun juvenile larger print for one of the fabrics so that the critters are peeking or tumbling out from behind the other pieces. I use Ricky's HC for quick baby quilts too. Panels with fun pieced borders are good too. Happy sewing - I love making kid's quilts.

                  Margo,

Such a simple idea and yet sooo neat! You should suggest it the whomever puts up projects on TQS. I'm sure many more people would love this idea than those who might wander on to this section of the forum!

They just posted a cute quilt that goes together quickly. I had a friend start it last night. It will not take her very long to finish this quilt.
