Frank, I surely will pray that all goes well for you and that you will not need an implant! Blessings to you as well!

            Frank ,
I have had a pacemaker since 2010 and I don't even know that it is there. Mine is for Atrial Fibrillation and my heart stopping for more than 3 seconds, in UK they advise you to have a pacemaker fitted if your heart stops for more than 3 seconds
Yours will probably be different to mine ......I haven't had a heart attack! There are many different pacemakers out there.
Good luck...I'll be thinking of you.

Frank, I will be praying for you. I have a friend who had a defib. (can't spell it either!) implanted about 6 years ago. She is an RN. She was back to work quickly and has had no problems. If you have to have the procedure, I hope you have the same positive results.

Thank y'all for the prayers and personal notes of support. I did my nuclear stress testing two days ago and am happy to report that I will NOT be needing a "defib" implant! The other heart muscle weakened by the heart attack has gotten stronger since the artery was "unclogged" and stent put in place last November. Thank God, and thank all of you!

Now I just have to continue with my power walks and eat sensibly. Gosh, I feel relieved!

                          Hugs to all,
