Thank you all for praying for Melinda. She did not get the job. She is disappointed but moving forward, believing God has something else in mind for her. It's a relief to know she has perspective. And you know, if she isn't meant to be in that job, I don't want her there either. Thank you again for praying.Deborah W

This thread has been empty for quite a while. I'd like to ask for a prayer for a smooth holiday season with a focus on love and the Lord this year. Thanks for your prayersfor this. My prayers going out for all the requests here over the last months where we haven't been updated on some of the situations. May the Lord's blessings be on all who need them. JanDeborah W

Please pray for my daughter Ruth who is studying for her Masters Degree 1000 miles from home across the sea. She is suffering from depression and has obsessive compulsive issues as well. She has missed her medication for a while and it is now out of her system completely, she is in a very very low state of mind at present. She risks losing everything she has worked so hard for if she cant do her part time and pay her rent and get out of her 'why bother' way of thinking. I speak to her constantly on Skype and encourage her, but it will take several weeks to get the meds back into her system and help her cope better. Thank you so much brothers and sisters, you are always such a great support!

Pam, I am so sorry to hear this news! I'll be sure to keep Ruth (and you) in my prayers! And, all those of you who have posted your needs for prayers in the past. It is a time of year to reflect on other's needs. We have been given the gift of Christ, and in return can always give the gift of prayer!
Dawn

I have a very special request that I have been meaning to post here, but time slipped up on me. First a little background - My very good friend, Lennis, was diagnosed with kidney disease as a toddler, but managed to stay in relatively good shape for many years. She married, but was told that she should never have children. When she was about 44, they adopted a son. Her kidneys were starting to fail and she was told by her local doctors that she would have to go on dialysis very soon. She refused to accept that rationale, and went to Mayo Clinic, where she was put on the transplant list. In two months, she got the call and had the transplant. She did remarkably well, and went on with her life. However, her marriage failed, she took care of her mother with Alzheimer's, and her son grew up and gave her many heartaches that I won't go into. All along her doctors were amazed that the transplanted kidney was doing so well. It has now been about 25 years since the transplant and the kidney is still functioning. This summer she was having a scan for another problem and they scanned her kidney just to take a look and found that she has renal cell carcinoma. What a blow! She and doctors have had many conversations and she has done a lot of research and done a lot of thinking. One option is to try to save the kidney, depending on how close to the vasuclar system it is, and the other option is to go ahead and remove the kidney which would automatically put her on dialysis. (She has always said that she absolutely didn't want to be on dialysis.) She has finally decided to let them try to save the kidney, and she is scheduled to have the surgery tomorrow at Mayo. She has been approved to be on the list for a living donor if she can find one. So I would so appreciate your thoughts and prayers for her as she has the surgery to hopefully save the kidney. I will keep you all posted on her status as I hear it. Thanks so much.
