Survey-- how often do you visit a message board

I am just wondering cause I have spent two hours on line surfing though my favorite web sites... ( I am waiting for my DD to finish her project and let me get back to working on my newest quilt. I can not wait until her machine comes back from the repair shop. )

How many quilting boards / blogs do YOU vist?

How often do you do you visit them?

    Daily?
    Weekly?
    Occasionally?

How often do you post? or do you just lurk or read

    Daily?
    Weekly?
    Occasionally?

Why do you visit the message boards? blogs?

What other boards / blogs do you like to visit?

Addendum: How many months have you been coming here?

the dreaded question.... How much time do you spend surfing ... when you could be quilting ?

I don't think I would like to see the answer if I added up all the time I spend on the internet! It is not only quilting, I have quite a few interests where I regularly visit to read and contribute to forums. There are many, many blogs I visit about 2 -3 times a week. Plus a few I check out every day. And then there is all the news sites I read - it is great to have access to the whole world.

I probably spend at least 5 hours a day on the internet.

I check out TQS every day. Most times I'm on 45 min to an hour. If I have some extra time I'll check out links in the forum. If I'm not pressed for time, I'll post but usually I just read. I love it. Gloria

I check this one once or twice a day. I also look at the QIAD forum. Very different from this one but nice. There are three or four blogs I keep up with. I guess I spend about two or three hours a day on the computer. Except when I have a project going. IMO it's alot more productive and better for my brain than zoning out in front of the TV.

Depends on what I am doing. I check this site at least once, often 2-3 times a day so I figure I am on here for about a half hour to 45 minutes doing that. I check Comcast for news and stuff and surf that for another half an hour or so (also check my email then too) and then if I have a little free time of an evening I indulge in my other online activity - POKER!! I just play freerolls most of the time, although I have about $12 in an account on Pokerstars with which I occationally play $1 sit and gos or micro money tournaments. If I get into a good tourny though, I could be playing for 2 hours or more depending on how I finish. Last night I played one for 2 1/2 hours and ended up 376 out of almost 12,000 players - out of the money but not bad really. You had to be in the top 99 to win anything though.

I am visting TQS and 5 more quiltrelated sites when I want to relax my brain..that way it do not take up time from quilting...or work.

I will make a new string in the FORUM if I feel I have something "important" to say. 8)
I will reply if I need to say something that hasnt already been adressed.

I will make a blog if I have some greate pictures I want to show you all, a quilt I want you to see or I need some love and support
I will make comments to the blogs if I have the time to do so...and I know I can do a better job at that

I have been on for 7 1/2 months.

I LOVE TQS so you would find me on here every time I am logged on internett, but I do visit Sharon Shambers site, QNNTV and some of the blogs hosted by other TQS members.

Hate to admit, but I usually visit several times a day unless I'm traveling. Often just a quick look at the forum and blogs, though.

LadyRags, are you aware that your type is HUMONGOUS? I know you have been having much difficulty with type font etc, and I thought you said the other day that some of that was resolved with Mozilla download (I assume Firefox). Did you know your type is about 5 times larger and your line spaces about the same? If it works for you, hey, it doesn't bother me. I just wanted you to know.

How often do you do you visit them? Once a day, if possible. When work gets difficult, only at the weekends.

I try to participate when something interests me, I feel strongly about it or I know something about the topic

Why do you visit the message boards? blogs? Meet friends, have fun.

What other boards / blogs do you like to visit?
One board is related to quilt art, and the other is a place where friends hang out.

Addendum: How many months have you been coming here?
More or less from the beginning

It depends on the list. Some I participate in, some I lurk. I don't clock my time, I just know it's too much. I feel like I'm losing my life sometimes.

Thank goodness I thought I was a TQS addict. I check the site about 3 times a day. I usually do it when I get bored and can not handle looking at the T V anymore. I have run out of fabric to cut and iron. I hate applique now more then ever :!: Actually I think it hates me. I really miss my sewing machine. I wish it were next month so that it was fixed already. I am going thru withdrawls. I think I need professional help ops: Rachel

I sypathize with you Rachael...If I couldn't have my machine for a week or more I think I would really get bored. But I have a Sears machine to fall back on and I also like to read. ( I usually do that on days that I don't feel up to par) Here's hoping you get your machine back real soon. Nan

Generally twice a day for me - first thing in the morning for a quick e-mail and TQS check, and then a longer stint at night (maybe an hour). Not enough quilting time anymore!
