    • Practiced making a simple patch border

Used decorative stitches to make a quilted back to a sofa pillow.

Started playing with my BSR foot on a quilt sandwitch... it was a lot of fun. I plan to practice some more before I sew on my GS's toddler quilt.

I made my GS a quilted pants suit just before Christmas... the stinker already grew out of it... I now remember why I did not sew for my daughter when she was a baby.... she grew right through everything I made her.

I only had to work 4 hours today, so had some time to work on my second feather star. I'm hoping this one will go a bit faster. Sandi in FL

I spent the whole day between babysitting my GS for several hours sewing FACATCHITA (sp?) blocks. I was told this is also called MILE A MINUTE blocks. My BGF calles them FACATCHITA , so I do to.

I disregarded all color rules and just pulled fabric out of my scrap bag. Currently my stash bags have leftovers from my daughter's shower fabric from her wedding and baby showers so it is pretty much coordinated in Caribbean colors.

I sewed strips together till I got fabric blocks over 12 - 14 inches. I do try to the edges of the block stable by using bigger strips to the out side.

I then would square up the block to either 6 1/2 or 7-1/2 or 9-1/2 inches. I then sewed log cabin strips around the outside from my left over of my binding scrap bag. This results in a stable out side border. Blocks are trimed to 9-12 inches. I made 20 blocks yesterday and think I can make another 20 today for a quilt.

I thought this would results in less scraps but you really can't go by me... I think my scrap bag grew over night.

Woo Hoo!!! Finally got my January BOM done. (Picture to be up tomorrow) My DS wants to do something different in the setting triangles. I couldn't figure out how to do it in EQ6, but guild meeting was on Monday and the one of the gals that designed our last raffle quilt was able to help me. DS will be home again this weekend so maybe on Monday I'll be able to start working on February's part.

I have my fabric cut out for Jan. and Feb. BOM. Hope to get to the sewing part today while doing laundry..... Of course I'll forget about the laundry as soon as the first load is put in and I head for my room, only to remember tonight while making dinner. Oh well,,,, like I haven't done that before. ops:

I have done a bit of sewing lately - hand quilting and preparing a couple of blocks for different projects. On one, I did a good portion of it on my 1886 treadle that I found before Christmas. I've decided to include at least one block sewn on "her" in each quilt from now on.

The last few days have been spent catching up on news and Tv while sorting through ALL of the quilting magazines I've been keeping. I tore out any projects I might want to make some day. I put them in plastic sleeves and sorted them into categories. I got some 3 ring binders and dividers and now everything is orderly and I can easily find a pattern when a need arises. The shelf looks so nice and neat and the binders take up less space than the bin of magazines did.

Well I have driven myself nuts tonight. I have to make some 12 inch finished blocks for our raffle quilt. I have never been very accurate and I have been having the devil of a time getting these blocks finished.

They are finally done and they are true 12-1/2 inch untrimmed.

Next task is fusing leaves to make blocks.... How do I get myself into this ???

This week has been very busy. I sat down to work on the feb bom, and my dd #2 wasn't going with the plan. She saw I had my scrap basket out and took it to task. She's definitely a quilter in training! She worked the pedal while I steered, then we traded jobs... she's a natural! So we pieced enough blocks for a rail fence lap quilt!

Tonight I did get some work done on my feb bom...I cut all my fabric minus the borders as directed.

I'm also working on piecing Jan bom in batiks and the Jan alternate blocks...I do have the major parts pieced almost ready for assembly.

...Time for some more caffiene
