Cheryl I know what you mean about all the little bits of fabric discarded. I think that's part of my own intimidation. I'm getting thru it though because I REALLY want this. But that hinders me more and paralizes my progress. ops: I hope I have something to post soon.

Yesterday I was able to spend a couple more hours working on the bed quilt and got a few more blocks quilted. THere are probably about 6 more blocks to quilt, then I have a 2 inch border waiting for a double wavy line and a larger border about 8" wide. Oh and there is a section at each end that has a saw tooth strip that goes from one side to the other. THis is a queen size quilt.

Patti, I have bought another shade of fabric and hope it will work. Then I have to find thread to match. that is going to be another challenge. In the mean time Grandma is staring at me while I work on the bed quilt. Actually a portion on grandma. She almost looks like a Picaso with half a face. Not very flattering. But maybe today will be the day I work on her. You are gallery 9? I'd love to see how the little guy is coming along.

Today I didn't get any dyeing done like I was hoping. That is probably going to wait until next week. I did get sewing done. I went to my LQS store today to get backing for a quilt. And I spent about an hour and 20 minutes sewing blocks together and pressing the backing after it was washed. I'm working on a quilt I wish I didn't have to make. It's a Rail Fence Quilt where the center rail is white fabric. This quilt is a signature quilt for a friend of mine who has multiple myeloma. The white fabric is for friends to sign. I'm hoping to have it done by Thursday. I spent a lot of time today running errands, don't really have any errands in mind for tomorrow so I should be able to spend more time tomorrow working on this quilt.

Frances, I'm sorry to hear about your friend. How nice it will be for her to get the quilt with her friend's signatures. HOW do you stand that kind of heat!!! It would kill me.

Tilde is a lady from the Neatherlands who joined the Dear Jane on line quilting list and would encourage everyone to sew just one thread/ needle a day to keep up their progress with their quilting.

She was always helpful with others to keep them sewing when they were discouraged and often gave wonderful advise about various sewing problems.

A TILDE THREAD became known as just sewing a little bit everyday ... progress will be made on our quilts. Over time TILDE stood for persaverence in our stitching. We would post our progress until the quilt was done.

Tide and many of the former list members now write and belong to on YAHOO GROUPS... these are opened to anyone who wants to join.

                    June 18th

I am planning on working on a quilt each evening for an hour. I get home at 6 pm and lay down and take a short hours nap then I have energy to do some work... I tried skipping the nap but then I can not see straight. My hubby works second shift and I work days so this lets me stay up long enough to get some work done.

Last night I squared up my quilt getting ready to sew a small border ...... I am having trouble deciding the size of this boarder.

Yesterday (18th) I worked on Grandma and she is coming along. She still needs a few more tweeks on fabric placement. Hopefully I will get it right today and also work on the bed quilt. We are counting down on the last days of school and I hope to get some things accomplished before Tuesday. Once I get the fabrics down, i'll post a photo in my profile for oppinions. Cheryl

Still working on Grandma, and she took up all my afternoon. I have posted some photos in my profile. One of the photo, and one with the fabric portait. THis is a very challenging but exciting class at QU.

This Tilda thread has been great to get me going. Even though I am not actually sewing every time, it does get me into to my sewing room no matter what, to accomplish something.

Well, I didn't get any sewing done yesterday (Thursday). I had my first PT appt for my ankle and after that it was not happy so I spent the rest of the day downstairs. I did spend some time on the computer working on ideas for quilting a quilt though. Then was out late which is why it is 2:00 am and I am on line. Just getting caught up then will read to see if it helps me fall asleep.

Does working on quilting designs in a sketch book count? I can't sew when I'm extremely stressed out (like now!) but sketching designs is soothing.

I as long as it is quilt related and it is constructive it counts. Everyone has good days and everyone has bad days. Just don't let the bad days take over and be deconstructive. Frances I am sorry to hear that your PT appointment went so bad. Keep withit though remember that which does not kill us only makes us stronger. So if thatis the case we are going to be SUPERHEROES  Rachel
