    noodles from the pool

I forgot where this was mentioned....rolling your quilt around the noodles while you are quilting it to keep it from getting bunched up and go through the throat of the machine. I was up at water aerobics this morning and they were going to throw away noodles that were a little worse for wear, so I asked if I could have a couple. Now I have 2 noodles to use whenever I get around to quilting and saved a few pennies to spend on something quilting related. I'm sure they don't cost much but I am going green and recyling as much as possible.

Congratrulations on being in the right place at the right time - and on Earth Day, too! Let us know how they work, when you get around to it.

If any of you really want to participate in trying to keep as much out of the landfills as possible, check out

      http://www.freecycle.org

which is a yahoo group dedicated to just that. You list the item you no longer want, and someone responds if they want it. It is grouped by zip codes, so nothing is very far away. You then tell them where to pick it up and you put it on your front porch or such and they pick it up that day at an agreed upon time. You never meet..........the item just 'disappears.' I've seen furniture, computers, printers, lawn equipment, flowers, shrubs, trees, -- all be offered and then taken!

Keeps the landfills out of the picture, and someone gets what you don't want anymore!

      Works well.
