    quilting suggestions

Our church quilters are finally going to start on our auction quilt for November. The pattern picked is just a simple 6" squares in rows of different color and pattern fabrics. I need suggestios on how to quilt it. There are ususally 4 of us who quilt it but occationally one or two more people drop in. It needs to be simple but interesting. I thought about a spiral all the way around. What do y'all think?

That sounds simple enough, one of the recent quilt books Has a very pretty heart in it too I will try to find which one if your interested. I know I own it. I found it , It is Quiltmaker Mar/April'08 No.120, It is called Feathered Heart Quilting. It doesn't look too difficult. Rachel

Hi. The spirals do sound great. If you look in my profile picture you will find "easy circles" the green quilt, this is really easy and fast. I have a picture up showing how it is marked. chalk/plate. It is truely a fast quilting design. You can add more quilting to the design. I'm having trouble myself choosing which quilting designs I want to use.

A spiral sounds good--curves to soften the geometrics like Alex said. I've been mixing curves & geos for years and it's always worked for me. I think an all over quilting pattern would look good for your quilt instead of quilting individual squares. Judy in Torrance

Thanks for the suggestions. Now I just have to get my group to agree on one.
