That's all that was necessary in the first place. Why did this have to become a public issue? Let's keep this friendly and fun.

Okay, I'll bite, for the sake of professionalism. In the header with pix of Ricky and Alex--the word "everyday" should, I believe, be two words.

I guess I need to say, I did that. I had no idea there was a difference between the two words. ......I have contacted Bob and he will fix it.

Regarding the newsletter - recently we implemented changes. Apparently the change was not bullet proof - Last week, it fell through the cracks.

I also must confess that I was not a wiz in English in high school or college - darned good at art though LOL. I am amazed at how authoring books, writing patterns and developing two web sites has enabled my improvement. Again, perfect? no. I could agonize over each blog and have it checked and rechecked, but frankly that would take the fun and spontaneity out of the whole process -resulting in less blogs. All points are well taken and rest assure our endeavor is to make this the best quilting web site on the face of the earth.

To those who hang out in the forum and on the site - Thank you for being a part of our incredible community and participating on a daily basis - we appreciate you and thank you for your support.

I think we need to remind ourselves of the fact that this site is a New Baby! Obviously things will be a little bumpy in the beginning...even when it comes to spelling. I dont think we can understand what a timeconsuming job it is to start a new business...doing the shows, making teaching videos, news letters...try to make all members happy! It takes between 3-5 years to have a business up and running somewhat smoothly, and after 5 years, when you try to strive for perfect....you can try your best but you will never get there because it will always be some bumps!

If it says Embroider in the News Letter or Everyday on top of the site then what??? I dont care if it is wrong. It doesnt mean I dont care if things are right if I do so, it means I appreciate when someone are trying their very best, like Alex and Ricky does!!! They have created a wonderful community for people all over the world!

I used to be an Art Director and I had to proof tons of things that went into print. From experience, I can say that even when two or three different people are proofing the same material, mistakes can still happen.

Everyday looked right to me, so I looked it up at http://www.dictionary.com
Is it that the word "day" is the noun and everyday would be an adjective?

I am always learning something new

I just stumbled across this and frankly I am shocked. This seems such a petty thing to be worked up over. I'm sure Judy was not meaning to hurt anyone's feelings and was just trying to help out. I don't think it was aimed at anyone personally. That said, those of you who know/remember I spoke on the disabilities thread a while back about dysgraphsia, which is a disorder related to dyslexia which specifically causes problems with handwriting, spelling, and the recognition of misspelled word. I have struggled with this my whole life and to this day I am very self concious about my spelling. Some people can be very defensive about spelling. We need to be careful both about how we correct people even if we do know they are wrong, and at the same time remember - please don't shoot the messenger they are only trying to help.

On the every day/eveyday thing, I think it would be proper to say "Its a new day everyday!" In that usage the everyday is an adjective describing the noun day.... no wait that might not be right... drat, even a teacher can't figure that one out lol.

I wasn't going to respond to the spelling issue but it has been making me think all evening (scary thing). We are such a loyal group and our enthusiasm for all things TQS is monumental. I get really bent out of shape when anyone critisizes (sp) anything. BUT everyone is entitled to an opinion and their opinions should be respected. So that's MY humble opinion. Gloria

Okay, I'm going to stick my neck out here - again.
Mandy, yes it is a petty thing. And Gloria, absolutely, everyone has a right to an opinion. But.......now here's my but (with my neck).... it could have just as easily been an email to TQS....behind the scenes. Perhaps an offer to proof read? What is the point of making a public (negative) statement?
Ok, now I climb down off of MY soap box

I have read all of this forum since the first statement was posted last night. I'm usually silent when chancing confrontation, but I decided in this situation, silence might mean that I think the way this developed was o.k....and I do not. Each person is indeed entitled to an opinion, both positive and negative, but where the line should be drawn is at the point when the opinion aims to hurt and causes unnecessary thoughts and misunderstandings. This entire forum could have been avoided if the original statement had of been sent to Tech Support......and yes, they do listen. If an opinion or a complaint is followed by a personal stab, then it's just plain wrong. There's always a way to be nice about it if chosen.

During my teenage years, a very wise person taught me the importance of thinking before I speak and to always guard every word and make sure I don't hurt someone intentionally. I have lived by that simple concept all these years and it saves so much hurt for me and also for those I come in contact with. All it takes is a little thought.

It sure does make one want to never voice an opinion, doesn't it? There is nothing quite like being attacked for expressing one's opinion. I'm planning to keep my mouth shut and my typing fingers still, from now on while I visit this site. I will read silently or forgo the Forum altogether.
