to all you gals who "hook". I'm so glad to see fellow crochet fans. with yarn in hand, everyone assumes you are knitting. I am ambidexterous (sp) and can't handle a knitting needle in each hand. :? .
now I've ventured into crocheting sweaters. (and they fit!)

These ceramics suns were pieces I got while on vacation in mexico I was sitting out in the Sun to long!ops: got burnt had to stay out of the sun so this gave me some thing fun to do,didn't know I would be getting hooked on this. It cost $25.00 to paint one,and the prices kept going up each year. I got smart and bought my own plastic molds on the internet. Their actually plastor paris, not ceramic, The ones in mexico we're ceramic. Granddaughters, friends, newphews enjoyed this too! I have my kitchen wall lined with pretty suns. I have afew Butterflys & frogs too. This is as far as my painting goes besides on walls. "They're all different bright and cheerful."Though Kathy wishes she was an natural Artist.
((Good luck on knitting those socks))!
ps. Kathy put on a pair of jeans today that make her feel like Britney! "Too Little"!! LOL! My Jeans seem to keep shrinking hubby says his is too!! Guess thats like looking in the mirror and telling it that its having a bad hair day! The only thing that Kathy can pull off of Britney is,"Ooops I did it again"!

Kathy - the ceramic suns sound like great fun! I use to do ceramics in 4-H. I never created my own, but I would paint the pre-made stuff. A load of fun! I've thought about getting into it again, but that would take time away from quilting
This weekend was a load of fun!! I met Ruthann at the guild meeting - she is such a fabulous lady and Hidiously Kinky looks even more spectacular in person. I always find the guild meetings rejuvenating. I'm not as involved as sometimes I'd like to be, but just the happy faces, the show & tell, the speakers, the donation quilts... the energy! All so wonderful!
Ruthann, I'm so glad you came and you shared. Hopefully we'll be able to meet up again in May, depending on how your recovery is doing. Perhaps Patti can join us then also!
After the meeting, DH came to pick me up - he had to get up early to drop me off also - I haven't master left footed driving yet  We headed over to a photo supply place he wanted to go to... which happened to be near one of my quilt shops! I love how things work out that way :-)
I picked up some fabric in Hawaii that I wanted to make into a Hawaiian Wedding Quilt, but I needed some background fabric, so I was on a mission. I found the perfect fabric and also found some backing fabric that was just gorgeous!! I also picked up some books & found a pattern I had been eyeing for a while.
Well, with pattern in hand, I decided I'd go ahead and get the fabric, so back to the fabric room I went  I found out that they were holding the fabric back for a class they were having on it next weekend - so I signed up for the class!
After all that, we headed towards home. We needed to stop by Joanns for some buttons, etc where I found some fabulous pink fleece with John Deere logo on it! Perfect for my niece who loves, loves, loves her farmer grandpa!
After all that, my foot was pretty tired, so we headed home to rest before heading out for the evening.

Posting again since my previous post was getting so long
Saturday night we went to dinner with some friends followed by eukre (sp?) and dominos - loads of fun!! I was exhausted by the time we finally made it home.
Sunday was time for more fun - but all at home. I cut out the leaves for one block of the Hawaiian wedding quilt. I think its going to turn out fabulous! I also worked on the quilt that has been patiently sitting on my frame. I've been neglecting it a bit, so I paid it some attention last night. I'll try to get to it some more today if I can get some of my *real* work done.
OH! I also finished the topper for the log cabin quilt - I'm soooooo excited!! I sent the picture to my mom & she approves. Now to finish off my neglected quilt so I can throw the log cabin on the frame.

Sounds like you are Buzzzy! Buzzzy Buzzzy! 'm Looking forward to seeing your Hawaiian wedding quilt. I haven't done a log cabin yet but it's on my to do list, their are yet alot that I do want to tackle. I want to finish 6 quilt tops before getting to the quilting, I'm on # 4 . I have practice"practice" the feathers and I have to say Seth feathers looked pretty darn good! I have learnt afew great short cuts,"Geesh Kathy seems to have always taken the longer route". (Learn Learn Learn!) I forgot what quilt did you have on the frame? It's always great meeting up with TQS friends and I bet RuthAnn was a great delight. Hope the ankle is mending well.
Hugzzz,Kathy
PS. yes It's always great when we get moms approval

I don't do as much free-hand as I'd like. I've practiced feathers and stippling before, but that's about it. Most all my quilting is using a pattern.
