    appliquick serrated scissors

    Good Evening Applique Experts
I am trying to make a decision which size of Appliquick scissors to purchase.....the larger three hole ones or the smaller ones.
I intend to use them primarily for cutting out appliqué pieces which will be both very smaller and larger.
I am also left handed and wondering if they work well for left handed people.
TQG staff tell me the larger ones outsell the smaller ones by a significant margin. I'm wondering why.
I would appreciate opinions on which ones to purchase.

Don't know whether this will answer all your questions but we recently had a discussion on the Forum about this same subject: http://thequiltshow.com/forum/search?query=apliquick%20scissors&childforums=1.

I am right-handed for scissors but ambi-dextrous for a lot of things. I have both large and small Apliquick scissors and tried them left-handed--I don't think they work. I had no problems with the right hand but they would not even cut for me using the left. At the time of the discussion, I did a search online to see if there were any discussion of left-hand Apliquick scissors and came up blank. They are not very different in function from the Karen Kay Buckley scissors, the materials they are made of and shape are very different, both have serrated edges, which is the important element. You don't require three holes to hold your scissors they way it is done in the demo. You can hold ANY pair of scissors that way. If you really insisted on buying a pair, even though I question whether a left-handed person would be happy with either, I would go for the smaller pair for precision work.

Hopefully a left-handed person who has tried Apliquick scissors will pipe up! Hope this helps.
