Need quilting design ideas for a Lil Twister quilt

I just made a doll quilt using the Lil Twister pattern. I am wondering how people have quilted these. What designs? I'm drawing a blank here.
I intend to quilt using a home machine.

    Beth,
Check out Leah Day and her free motion quilting project. She posted videos to over 365 different designs. She has them listed alpha and by level of ability.

My niece & I made the Lil Twister Star quilt a year or so ago. I quilted it on my Janome 6600. I did straight line stitching in the star outline, from point to point. Then FMQ in varigated thread in the corners where the was a lot of open space. It doesn't really show up well here.

Thanks for the suggestions. If this had been a larger quilt, I would definitely have used them.

But because this was just a little doll quilt, I ended up wimping out. I just stitched in the ditch around the windmills and quilted straight lines in the border which were parallel to the edges of the closest windmill.

I have to admit that even following the "ditches" turned out to be challenging. If you don't keep your mind FOCUSED, you end up wandering all over the place, and then have to figure out what you missed by looking at the back of the quilt. (Guess how I know this??)
