    photographing quilts

Does anyone know of a good way to get quilts photographed professionally? Is it OK to send them out to get it done? I am concerned about my quilts coming back to me and coming back to me in perfect shape.
I live in FL and would love to know how to get this done locally.

Hi - I would call some of the guilds in the area. There's a lot of talent in Florida, so someone must have a source. Also, the better quilt shops are sure to know.

I think I'd ask the fella that takes the TQS pictures... Gregory Case. He specializes in quilt pics. Also the lady who does pics for Quilters Newlestter Magazine... I think her name is Melissa Karlin or something like that. Perhaps look in a quilt magazine for who they use... Ask about sending your quilt to them or if they can refer to someone closer.

There was also an article over at AQS about taking better photos of quilts, but although I saw it when it first came out, it won't let me access it as I am not the right sort of member :? I even remember posting a link to it somewhere on this site, but I cannot find the location or remember where  Don't know if that helps or not

Here's one from APS. Hope the link works. There are other photographers on the same link giving advice too.
