    Handprint quilt

I have offered to make a quilt with the kindarden class at the school where I work at for an auction. they want to do handprints. What kind of paint should I get for this without spending a lot of money.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks
    Suzanne

I'm in the UK, so the brands available are not necessarily the same. You should be looking for a water soluble paint (so hands can be easioly washed) that can be made permanent by ironing (put greaseproof paper between handprints and iron so you don't get any surplus paint on the plate of your iron.

This sounds like a real fun project.

Bridget has been mentioning just this type of quilt on her blog, here is the last post about it community/my-profile/Bridget473
Work back through previous posts and you will find out how she set about it. And I am sure if you send here a message she will be willing to share her experiences/advice.

Rosemary, I had just found the link for Bridget's blog to post for Suzanne and by the time I got back you had beaten me to it.

You obviously got up earlier than me this morning.

It is called 'the first snow of winter & a small excited child to wake you up', but then I've been saying for months that if we get any snow this winter it would turn up for my birthday, and yesterday it did! 8)

Ah!!! Thank goodness I'm old enough to be able to stay in bed and my kids have the pleasure of taking their small excited children out into the snow. I can stay indoors and smile indulgently at the neighbourhood littlies outside while I stay indoors in the warm. Happy birthday for yesterday. I hope that you had a good one.

Thank you all for the great advice -- I have contacted Bridget and hopefully she will get back to me soon.
The auction is at the end of March! And I work full-time so hopefully I will be able to have it all done. I have ordered fabric and it should be here tomorrow. I want to have the kids part done by February break so I can work on it then. (Not that I don't have to work that week)

I will post some pictures as I get it done.

p.s. Happy belated Birthday Rosemary! And I am very happy it isn't snowing here on good old Cape Cod!
