sewing strips together

When you are sewing several strips together do you sew them all top to bottom? Or do you reverse them, top to bottom-bottom to top?

i find that if i sew them all in one direction, i end up with a lopsided top - i read once to alternate the direction - and this works for me

I'll do it like Lotti because that's the way I was taught to do it. I have never really tried both ways and then compared to see if there is a difference.

Yes I alternate like Lotti - I tried doing strips all the same direction once and it ended up bowing in the middle. Even if you alternate every third strip it will stop the bowing. Good luck Rita.
