You could use Shar Jorgenson's templates: http://www.qheartland.com/pd_double.cfm

I took John Flynn's class in Houston and although I haven't finished the quilt it seemed like it would be very easy to do. You start out by sewing strips together and then cut them to the size of the arc and then there is a special trick to make them curve. It's very easy. I got a lot done in the class but like a lot of stuff, when I got home, it never got finished. He has a book that explains the whole process.

I would starch your fabric very well before you cut out the pieces. Many bias edges have a tendancy get "wonkey" with lots of handling(especially of it's going to be bedsize) Use a thread like Masterpiece or SewFine, make sure your seam allowance is a perfect ¼". Also decide if you are going make the scalloped edge binding or the straight edge binding. Alex has a great tutoral on how to make the scalloped edge binding on one of the past shows.(This edge treatment can be a challenge if the quilt is not flat...ask me how I know. Also you need a single fold binding strip..)
This is such a lovely quilt, & it will be a beautiful family treasure!!

When I was a beginning quilter I made a wedding ring quilt using the John Flynn method. I was very proud of myself!

A short cut if you want 30's or Batik fabrics is a pre-cut wedding ring quilt kit from Fons and Porter!

My quilt group is making one for our "baby" who's getting married next year. We used templates for each segment, stitched them together then stitched around the outer edges of each arc onto fusible interfacing turned it out and appliqued down with blanket stitch. We're putting it together quilt-as-you-go. I did a trial block for my smapler quilt first so will lool out a picture of that to post.

I saw the "Rings that Bind" method on a quilt show once and it seemed pretty easy. No curves and quilt as you go. Too bad the book is out of print, but I found it here:
http://www.sewtech-evv.com/shop/Book...e-sku-6697.htm
and here:
http://www.bsewinn.com/rings-that-bind-book.html
Here's a short slideshow from the Author's/creator's website:
http://phillipsfiberart.danemcoweb.com/ringsthatbind/
If it looks like something you're interested in, here's a 4 minute segment on Simply Quilts about it:
http://www.hgtv.com/video/wedding-ri...deo/index.html
And here's a 20 minute video from Kaye Wood:
http://kayewoodtv.com/?dlink=true&ch..._That_Bind.flv
You might be able to get by with watching the videos and getting the templates from the Author's website. I've never made a Double Wedding Ring myself. (I bought the Jorgenson templates, but there are so many pieces that they mostly just sit in my drawer  )
At least this gives you another option to think about...

Thanks for all of the great info! I checked everything out and ORDERED the Rings that Bind book. That looked the easiest, and I'm teaching a quilt as- you- go at the shop where I work. If this goes as smooth as it looked, I think it would also make a great class. I'll be sure to post pictures when it's finished. Thanks again for all of the ideas. Sandy
