    YES! fabulous suggestion!

As someone who appliques (A lot!) I have TONS of wound bobbins because I match the top and bobbin threads to avoid dealing with tension issues that are not to severe.

I also have 2 machines which use different bobbins (of course) AND one of them does embroidery which uses different thread types... SO yup - LOTS OF BOBBINS over here!!

I read this post, then realised I don't have anywhere near enough bobbins - a quick visit to ebay and I now have 10 more. Oh dear, now they don't all fit in the bernina box. Guess what, I've also bought a box for them . Reading forums is getting expensive  . The bobbin boxes I looked at seemed very flimsy and/or expensive, so I bought one designed for bead storage. Actually, I liked it so much I bought another for my beads ...

Hey Ali - I love the round bobbins holders that look like this:

I saw them, they were the expensive ones . I bought two bead boxes and still spent less than one of these would have cost. In fact, I could have got three bead boxes for the same price.

You are right seamedUP - those bobbin bagels are wonderful - no loose threads, no bobbins flying all over - they are extremely efficient.
But I'm ready for a new color bobbin bagel!

I have 2 blue and 1 red of the round bobbin holders. I don't know if they come in other colors. I like the way they hold the bobbins in place. It would be nice to have different colors for each sewing machine that requires different size bobbins.

love those bobbin bagles - being what i am - things go flying more often than not - and with these - they act like little flying saucers and everything is just where it's supposed to be - even if i have to pick the bagle up at the other end of the room - right up there with the other greatest inventions ever
have a greyish-purple and two (different) shades of light blue - think it pays to buy long times apart - that way they change colours - and the kitty is stocked up again to be able to splurge on a goodie or two

                    "Bobbin Bagels"...... great name!

I agree with Ali. They are quite expensive, but for someone like me who drops things and then has to try and find all the bits and pieces, the BBs are great because nothing falls out, even when one of them went 'plopp-plopp-plopp....' all the way down the stairs last year.

Lorchen - don't you just hate trying to chase down loose, evil bobbins? They unwind so fast it's disturbing!
But I'd like an orange bobbin bagel because I'm an Auburn grad - I already have blue ones!

I just had a look. I have blue, red and purple ones. I don't think I have ever seen an orange one. You could always make little orange bags for your blue bobbin bagels.
