working with invisible thread

I am having problems working with invisible thread in my Bernina 143. The thread seems to get stuck in the tension discs and then pulls so hard that it breaks my needles. I have loosened the tension and reduced the number of guides the thread goes through but to no avail.

Google "invisible thread problems" and you will see many suggestions to correct what is going wrong. Check with Bob at Superior threads, he'll fix what ails you.

when you're decreasing the tension what number are you going to?
are you completely lifting the presser foot before changing the tension discs?
what brand are you using - is it nylon or polyester
what needle size/type are you using?
what are you using in the bobbin?

I've had that happen when I thought everything was set up just right only to discover the thread was catching in the spool itself or wrapping around the rod the spool was on. Using a thread net on the spool fixes that sort of thing right up, if that's your problem.
