    Glad to see that a couple of us are still going down the trail.

    One of the things I try to do, keep it achievable, and don’t get too concerned about what time slot or day of the week. After all, if the laundry is done before we run out of undies, it’s been done within the ‘needed by’ time frame. LOL

    Eileen, did you know that Ryder Carroll was diagnosed with ADD when younger. I listened to him on a Ted Talk and he says, I didn’t have any trouble with attention deficit,,,, my problem was more with my attention being directed at too many things at the same time and not at the time when I needed to be focused on them. I love that way of looking at it. Probably not an ‘attention’ deficit but a ‘timely focus disorientation’. Doesn’t that sound more positive? When someone is disorientated, it just signifies that a ‘recalculation’ would be beneficial. My next career: straightening out these negative descriptions of people and how they cope with life, right after my next 52 quilts, lol.

    If you can get the book NOW, you won’t be sorry,,, just have your hi-lighter handy and maybe some post it notes so you can find your special spots. My book is so marked up, and I’ve been going back through it every few days just to process more of the goodness that it holds. This one should be required reading for parents and teachers with kids that are ‘disorganized’ , like most of us are at some point....

    I know what you mean when you try to share with friends. If you’re like me, you get truly excited when something is working for you. And you want your friends to have the benefit of at least knowing that whatever it is, they might find some nuggets for themselves. They ask the questions, sometimes only wanting to be polite, not really wanting an answer... Sad, but true. Recently my husband and I have started following a different approach to our eating. He lost 25+ pounds in less than 6 months,, but more impressive is all his lipid panel numbers are down and his BP is significantly lower. In fact, to a point that he is NOW on the lowest dose of cholesterol & bp meds available, without cutting a pill in half. AND the doctor said if he maintains this level for 6 months, He’ll be off them entirely! Family members asked WHAT DID YOU DO? We suggested taking a Sunday afternoon visit time to show them what we were doing. After I spent close to 4 hours explaining, answering questions, etc etc. I was exhausted but felt that they had a pretty good grip on ‘how we were changing our eating’. 2 weeks have passed and absolutely no communication about their progress. I think they wanted a quick fix, a pill, potion, or a specific concoction to drink. Instead they got an Insulin Suppression informative moment. I too have learnt to just answer politely, “If you want to know more about our HOW check out this website” I then hand them a piece of paper that I’ve scribbled on. InsulinSuppresion.com And. TheShiftFormula.com. AND. Barb & Charlie McDermott. After that, I just let it go. BUT as you can see I still share where ever I can. LOL.

        I'm plugging along with the process. I have a similar report to Wendy's and Luann's reports. I did great in August and half of September. Then I caught a nasty cold and didn't do much for about a month! I'm back on track now. I haven't used the tracker and future list functions as much as I thought I would. I've found the monthly goals to be helpful toward making progress. My daily lists are quite short because I don't list tasks I do each day. I find I accomplish my daily list most of the time. I've revamped how I'm tracking my working time on a project and note that I'm using it so I'm on the right track there! I did purchase a small two year planner which will fit in my purse and mostly be a calendar for me as I will be using my journal to expand the path of selected activities. It is all a process and habits form over time with practice. I'll be posting an update to my journal in a little over a week! I'm convinced the journal is a valuable tool for me though!!! :cheer:

          Answering the question, “How did I do with The Shift Formula?” Terrific ! ! I haven’t been on med’s like George (see the post #144572 down 2 spots for his results). I actually started searching out Keto and Intermittent Fasting back in March or April. Didn’t have a real good handle on it, and because of how I was raised to believe certain foods were bad for me, that I now know better about, I just couldn’t get on board totally. Then in late June early July, I saw an ad on Facebook for the Shift Formula Method. The first three days were free and I figured that was good. I’d watch 3 days of her video presentations, and think about it after that. I didn’t make it to day 3 before I knew I wanted to follow all 21 days and see where it would take me. I didn’t tell my husband, as I knew he’d just roll his eyes and think, oh boy, here we go again ! ! I think it cost about $55 for that 21 day program, but it’s mine to rewatch at any time,. So that was good for me. I figured if all I did was watch all the videos as they came through, one day at a time. Then I could have my mind understanding this method. By the time I got to day 5 or maybe 6 at the most, I was on board 100%. Now that doesn’t mean I followed it 100%, just agreeing with what I was hearing that made sense in an otherwise confusing world of nutrition. She presents the SCIENCE of Insulin Suppression. How it works, what triggers it, why we NEED to have insulin in order to live, and this all came about because when their daughter Erin was 16 her pancreas stopped working and is now on insulin. All of the ups and downs of that life changing event led to the collection of all the information Barb could lay her hands on. Once things started to work in their favor,,,, about 6 years after the initial diagnosis,, and Erin actually finished a meal and said she was , “full”. AND didn’t hit the kitchen within 3 hours for more food, they knew that something was different. There’s was a trial and error method to finding what worked for their daughter’s health. And in the process they found some pretty amazing keys to success with softening many other medical conditions. So, back to the question,,, how did I do.
          Answer: I was 178# back in March before starting anything. I didn’t take my measurements then, but I have the numbers from July 27, and Sept 24– over that 2 month period of time my changes were as follows: 5#, not much for 2 months, but I eat plenty of foods that I enjoy, and I never have to use willpower to stick with what I’m doing. So it’s is very sustainable. As of this morning I’m down another 4#, but I don’t have my measurements for comparison with today. So the rest of these are just for those first 2 months changes: Bust -3 1/2 “, Waist -4”, Hips -4 1/2”. I knew it was working well, when I ordered a new bra and both the band and cup were one less ! ! Plateaus are to be embraced as they are the milestones of one’s body adjusting to a new normal. If I have an average of 4# of body fat used every 2 months, and my body adjusts to that and wants to stay there I’m a happy camper. It would also mean that over a year I’d be down 25#, and at least two sizes in clothing !!! Actually, I can’t afford to loose it any faster than that, the budget would be blown or I’d be living in my jog pants and t shirts, LOL. So, yes it works for me, and I believe it to be one of the most sustainable lifestyle nutrition plans I’ve ever been involved with. I believe in it so much, that I even offered to a friend that I’d pay for her to get the full 21 day program and if she didn’t think it was worth it, she didn’t have to reimburse me. If she thought it was worth it, she could do the same for someone in the future. She didn’t take me up on the offer, bought the 21 day program, and is working her way through things. It’s not a quick fix, then go back to your former methods of eating and think your health will stay where you’ve brought it to. The saying, If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting what you’ve always gotten, that statement is true for anything in life.
          I know this is very off topic, and hopefully no one will have it removed before those who could benefit from it have had an opportunity to read it.

            I signed up for 6 months of WW online only. When I finish, and if I think I need something more, I'll give it a shot. My only concern is that I'm hypoglycemic. I don't think anyone will take it down-after all, it says ask anything.

                  I think a ‘countdown’ to anything is a lot of fun, but Advent is just the Best ! ! ! Your calendar is inspiring.
                  How goes the journaling? I’m stepping mine ‘back to minimalism’ for 2019. A few fun things here and there, but I’ve determined that ‘the journal’ isn’t my creative outlet showcase, it’s just where I keep track of “ME” while I’m being creative. LOL

                  Let’s share more on this topic during 2019. Perhaps more will join in.
