If anyone doesn't know, I broke my kneecap at the end of August. Snapped that baby right in half! Thankfully, I didn't need surgery. You'd think I'd do some hand stitching, right? Wrong! I sat and watched TV for 10 weeks, while I was in a ankle to groin brace. Went to PT, and voila! Both the dr. and PT were amazed at how quickly I healed and was able to get my range of motion back. Anyway, I couldn't quilt for clients during that time, so I lost quite a bit of business.

Fast forward to January-I don't have a lot of client quilts to do, so I'm going to actually get to work ON MY OWN QUILTS!! :woohoo: I'm doing a challenge: 17 UFOs in 2017. I want to finish or make substantial progress on them.
      Here's the list (there's 18 on it):

      1. Piece O’Cake 4 block wallhanging (finish)
      2. Coxcomb wallhanging (When the Cold Wind Blows)(finish)
      3. Mark Lipinski class project (finish)
      4. 1st wool applique class project (finish)
      5. Roseville Album (progress)
      6. Rebekah Smith Fall wool applique project (finish)
      7. Guild Box Quilt (finish)
      8. Majestic Medallions (progress)
      9. Value Proposition EPP (progress)
      10. Teapot & Cup Art quilt (finish)
      11. Carol Doak paper piecing (finish)
      12. Pat Campbell Jacobean Applique class project (finish)
      13. Streak O’Lightning (Jelly Rolls) (progress)
      14. Hollyhock block (finish)
      15. Craftsy Machine Applique class project (finish)
      16. Little Helpers-Linda Poole (progress)
      17. School of Philosophy (finish)
      18. Now and Forever (progress)

      Wish me luck!

          Eileen-
I wish you luck ( energy, opportunity, wherewithal ) to accomplish your quilting list. So glad you made a good recovery from your kneecap disaster.
          Happy quilting days,

Geneva, love your quilts! Batiks are my very favorite fabric, and I've been looking for a project that I could use the biggest color ranges. Your quilts gave me the answer and inspiration. I really like how you are quilting it as well. So that will be the first on my list for this year. Since watching Susan Carlson in show 801 I have been following her, hoping she came to teach somewhere near where I live so I could take one of her classes - that hasn't happened! I just read on her website that she is considering doing classes online, depending on her follower's interest in participating. If that works out, I will add that to my 2017 list. And last but not least, to finally finish Janet Stone's fantastic BOM. (I am as far as the letter "M") I think that will keep me quite occupied for the year!

I'm excited to be part of this group, maybe we can all encourage each to get those project finished! My goals for today, & only today, clean up my house & sewing room, get packed because this afternoon we are leaving for my dream vacation to BALI & NEW ZEALAND for a month! I CAN'T WAIT!! I have been on a marathon work schedule & have worked about 10 days out of the last 14, (I work 13 hour shifts), so I am behind on all my work around the house.
I got a planned project ready to go, it's a Sharon Schamber pattern, I'm adding embroidery & beading to it, this is something very different for me, but this will be my airplane project. When I get to Bali, I want to buy all my fabrics for Sue Garman's BOM, so that will make it a special memory quilt for me.

I was hoping to have a quilt ready to load today. Instead yesterday took me to other things and I decided the last border needed tiny piping inserted! I've stitched one side of the last border and the piping. I have the next one almost all pinned. Not such a good idea when I was trying to hurry and my left thumb is very painful with tendonitis and some carpal tunnel starting. Argh! Have an hour in already. Heading back to get these other borders on in the next 2 hours. A goal at least!

Try some rub with Arnica in it...I find it helpful for reducing the inflamed tissues wherever they are !
And...I renewed a few days ago...thought we were to get a coupon to use for Appliquik tools...anyone know
                          how that works??

My goal for 2017 is to list all my tops and detail specific steps needed to complete them...batting, backing, quilting, binding label. I discovered recently I am extremely task oriented! Must be why I went into accounting, or maybe vice versa. LOL
We moved in November, so I have a smaller sewing room, still 10x10. It's put together enough that I have sewed in it.

I am interested in this virtual retreat. Quilting is a social activity and this is a way to need more friends and enjoy your show and tell. I was off work New Year's and cleaned and organized my sewing room. Feeling a bit overwhelmed buy all the projects I found half done not yet started Etc - not sure if I want to write it all down! Yesterday I was waiting for my daughter to return home from a trip, due to weather her flights were delayed and so I sewed to keep myself occupied. Catching up on The Splendid Sampler blocks.

Where in CA are you from?

Post pictures of your projects in process. We love to see them and watch them grow and we even commiserate with you when something goes awry.
