Barb, Your granddaughter's quilt is so fun! I suspect she will love it and it will give her comfort and a smile while away at college.

Luann, You've been busy! Lots of quilts made and all so different. They make me smile.

I just had to share this... I did not quilt it, I was given it to quilt up for passing along to one of our ‘charity’ outreach projects. It is just beautiful and it’s amazing when someone puts in this much work, and still chooses to bless others,,,

The quilting design is called Damask, and I chose an ‘orange’ thread, crossed my fingers, and knocked my own socks off! LOL

Happy Friday the 13th everyone! 13 is my lucky number!

I have finished all the Christmas quilts! My friend and neighbor Dawn, is an amazing photographer and she has a nice fence. We don't have any fences. So, I asked her if she would photograph my quilts on her fence. "Quilts in the Wild". She did wonderful job! BTW, I'm all Christmas-ed out! I made the Santas with the QCR mini ruler.

I've been having fun making Mariners Compass blocks using Robin Ruth's Fat Robin rulers. The rulers make it so easy and accurate.

I'm working on putting these and a few more together in a quilt. It;s nice to have my creative juices moving!

My two month stint at Walter Clore Wine Center ended at the end of August. I sold two pieces! Yay! This is the first time I've sold my art and don't know who bought it. I keep thinking about them hanging somewhere out there..... I'd sure like to know where this one is hanging! Whoever bought it must love color like me!

We are having a lovely fall so far. The cooler temps, the sky is beautiful (as you can see by Dawn's photos) and easing back into a routine. I hope all is well for you too.

              Take care, geneva

Thanks for all the nice compliments.

I forgot to mention the sizes of the Mariners Compasses. The larger one is about 18" in diameter with a 6" center compass. The other two are each 6" in diameter. I made an 8" one yesterday. The Robin Ruth rulers can make 6"-36" Mariners Compasses using only strip piecing. Her instruction book is amazing and very well written.

Hi All, well my day was yesterday and I completely forgot. Geneva you do such beautiful work and so precise.
Not sure if any of you know Kalynn Usher, I know her through Facebook and can't remember if she was on TQS. She passed on the 12th, she had been in rehab and was there when she had a heart attack. I believe she was in her late 50's. I will miss her posts on FB.

So since hurting my thumb and wrist I made a QOV (no pic), but not much quilting/sewing. My thumb/wrist is better and this week I will be in Seattle playing Grammie. I always go to Pacific Fabrics for stash enhancement. I want to try a bigger silk wall hanging for competition.

We did go to SW Colorado last week, Durango/Silverton/Cortez area to get away. Haven't been down there in over 30 years and its just as beautiful. The aspen are even close to changing their colors. We both definitely needed a break. Did go to a cute quilt shop in Durango and they are moving, so everything was on sale.

Just wanted to let you guys know you are the best!

Sharon, Grandma moments are wonderful and stash enhancement too. . .what could be better? Glad that your injury is healing. Geneva, beautiful quilts. . I loved seeing them "in the wild!" Congratulations on selling a piece of your art!

This year, I'm chair of the challenge quilt at one of the guilds I belong. At the meeting last Thursday, I greeted people coming to hear the speaker with a little sample a friend had made to encourage participation. During the guild year, my plan is to write articles with tips about various parts of the quilting process. I'm republishing the article the first Wednesday in my blog. I started an instagram #2020bustyourstashchallenge thread as a place to post photos and of course I welcome comments on my blog! I hope many people participate! The reveal will be in April at the quilt show. Otherwise, I've continued progress on various projects. Miss K worked on her mermaid. Using fabrics from friend Martha's stash, I stitched Miss K a vest. It is so soft! Between Martha and me, we made almost 50 items for the other guild I belong to boutique. The sale was held over the weekend during the quilt show and by the middle of opening day, many of our items sold.

I finished a little wall hanging and incorporated beading. I had fun with the beading and can see that beading could develop into a habit! Miss J won big at the county fair with her first quilt. I so love her smile! I started quilting a project that I last posted about in December. My goal is to finish it before the end of September!

In my quest to conquer the embroidery part of my machine, I embroidered two t-shirts. You can read post 1 and post 2. I'm happy with the progress I am making on projects that have been in process for months and years!
