    County Fair Quilt Wins

Hi All, Well to say I am excited it an understatement. I just won Champion in the senior category at our county fair and then won OVERALL Grand Champion with A to Z With Ewe and Me!!! Pretty dang exciting!!!

My little dahlia quilt from Sally Collins' book also won first place.

Congratulations, Sharon. Your quilt deserves the ribbons.
Do you get to keep the ribbons, once you give the quilt to the purchaser?
Or do they go with the quilt?

Congratulations, Sharon! The ribbons should stay with the maker. That's just like the shows that give separate ribbons to the piecer and the quilter. They go to the people who did the work, even if the people were paid for that work.

I am definitely keeping the ribbons. I hadn't planned to submit it to the state fair, but I spoke with the new owner and she was very excited and agreed to allow me to send her there. So excited for that event, but won't be at the judging.

Thanks everyone for the kind remarks.

              Sharon.

                      Sharon,
Had you already sold your quilt? Or is that part of you county's fair process, how does that work?
You may have already posted that you sold or gave it to someone, but I missed that post.
Thanks for getting me straightened out.

Luann, when the lady offered to purchase my quilt I asked her to only pay half so we could own it together. I don't think I could have entered it if I didn't own it completely. So, now I will send it to the state fair still co-owning it. The other lady has been very patient with this and will pay the other half and own it completely when the state fair is over.
