    Removing Staple paper

I have at last finished the 2012 BOM Sedona Star. I used Ricky's Tims Staple stuff and loved it. I know the instructions say it can be removed or left to form a nice compliment to nestle against the batting. I am in the UK and plan to send my quilt to someone to have it quilted with a long arm machine. Because I feel this may be an unfamiliar staple product in this country it may not be acceptable to the quilter. I have started to remove some but am finding it quite hard to remove. I would appreciate any advice on removing it. Also, there are portions of the quilt - the large curved areas near the outer border which it was advised to leave without staple material and this makes me wonder if it would show as different if I leave the backing paper in.

A couple of years ago I was able to attend Ricky Tims's talk in Oldham, and was able to handle one of his quilts that had the Ricky Tims Stable Stuff in it. I believe the quilt had been washed, and I have to say that I was a) amazed at how thin it felt, and b) would not have believed that it had the extra layer of Stable Stuff in it, if I had not been told. I would suggest talking to the Long-armer to find out her side of the story, it will probably be fine to leave it in with no problems what-so-ever.

      Muriel,
Could you make up a test sample with the Stable Stuff and take it to your long armers?

Thanks for your prompt relies. I haven, t settled on where I send the quilt for quilting but it seems a good idea to involve the long arm person when I contact them. Muriel

I used Ricky's stable stuff in parts of my "The Souls Among Us". You can see a picture of it on my profile I think. I quilted that quilt myself on my home sewing machine with no problem whatsoever with the stable stuff. I loved using the stable stuff. If you give me your email address I will send you my smilebox I made of the construction of the quilt. You can see the stable stuff for yourself.

          Good luck!
