Thank you. I will keep trying everyday.

Forgot to add this. I'm going to learn to do paper piecing.

    And

Do some quilt drawing everyday. Minimum 15 - 30 minutes. Easy way to work on flowing from one design to another and build on consistency. Feathers are new to me, plus I don't like to do anything that is a set pattern. Like to find my own rhythm. Yup, I make it hard on myself. It's a great challenge.

About a decade ago I started making resolutions that I could and would actually accomplish. I feel that there is enough stuff out there to make me feel guilty that I didn't need to add to the list myself! So, this year my resolution is to:

      QUILT!!!!

See, now I have a resolution that I will accomplish and I feel good already!

      Happy 2015 my friends!

On that note I'm going to participate in SewCalGal's 2015 FMQ challenge. I did the one in 2012 which was so good and improved my skills so much. This time you make a pillow, I presume this is what we'd call a cushion rather than something to sleep on. That'll be presents for the year sorted.

Clara I think you should join in it would help you achieve your fmq goal

Creativity can be fragile and vulnerable sometimes. Anger, joy can easily journey with creativity. When struggling with depression, creativity can be like wisps of smoke. It’s hard to grab ahold of and sometimes hard to see. Once seen, you can follow and enjoy the path you go on with the swirls and shapes. Once lost, it can be difficult to grasp that moment again.

This year I am more determined then ever to rebuild my creative soul. Refill it everyday with inspiration. Refill it by creating simple exercises everyday. Regrow my creative muscle is my goal. Because creativity is my coping and a part of me and I want and need it back.

This isn’t a new year’s resolution. It is a promise and commitment of survival.

Here is to an interesting year ahead and then some.

Wendy, thanks for the heads up on SewCalGal for 2015. Following the 2012 challenge really helped me too - it made me realize I actually COULD do it!

I am so happy to hear I am not the only one with numerous UFOs. I had planned to finish a quilt for each of my children for Christmas. I have finished one. Two are ready to be quilted. The other two are not started yet. This is a goal for next Christmas. I also have 3 large quilt tops to be quilted, 2 baby quilts, and many partially finished projects. So far all the fabric I need to buy is for the background on my Christmas houses. If I stick to the plans, I should be able to finish all of this with out additional fabric purchases.
Other then finishing projects, I hope to greatly improve on my longarm quilting. I am also planning to rearranging my sewing space to make it more efficient and hopefully make it easier to keep organized. It all sounds like a huge amount of work, but if I take it one project at a time I think I will have some success. Good luck to us all in the new year.

I will start with cleaning my studio so when I finally feel the urge to be creative--I will have the space to begin.

I'm getting ready to start my first project of the new year. This was put on my list a few days ago, although I have been wanting to do it for awhile, but didn't know what colors to use until last week. This one is for a friend. Starting from the top is the outer border, inner border, sashing and cornerstones (fussy cut leaves), block fabrics, and background. All of the fabrics were in my stash except the outer border and background. I will be making house blocks using 1 block fabric with the background fabric. There will be 12 blocks and I have 16 fabrics. Which ones would you not use, counting from the left 1 thru 16? I could make 4 extra blocks before deciding but that would take extra time.

Lovely fabrics. If I had to leave some out iI'd take out I'd take out 3,4,5 and 6. Worked out technically by putting a finger over the picture

Wendy's idea suits me because I would remove middle values. Maybe I'd leave the red and look for another middle value to toss. You'll be the best judge because you can look at them in reality/daylight. Best wishes for lots of enjoyment while you work.

I usually try to avoid New Year's resolutions because I only feel badly when I break them. :S But yesterday, I made a list of all my projects in the works: I have 27 in some stage of design (ranging from almost ready to start to just an idea), 15 being appliquéd (can you tell I get distracted by new projects easily?), 5 being pieced, 1 being put together, 3 being quilted or ready to quilt, and 1 that needs the binding fixed (today, I hope!). That's a lot! And in looking through my list, I really do want to finish all these, and I want to work on all of them NOW hmy: . Obviously not possible, so now I'm trying to prioritize, which isn't working so well. :S And then there are the charity quilts I want to work on. I've got a few of those tops here waiting for quilting (not part of my list). The actually quilting part is my weakness, and I really do want to improve on that, but I've never been very patient with practice pieces, so I'm planning to use the charity quilts for that. In our local group, we provide quilts to the police department for when they have to take kids out of their homes. This spring, I'll be traveling a lot—at least a week in every month through April—and my sewing machine really needs servicing, which means I'll be without it for a couple of weeks, sigh. Well, I guess I'd better log off and go quilt, hmmm? Happy New Year, everyone! May 2015 be filled with happy and quilty things for us all!

Robin, may I suggest your resolution be not starting any new projects? :P
