I will be keeping my beady eye out for both you Sharon and Nancy. Lucky you two to live close enough to go to the tapings - or has it moved too far away from you now? Hey, did anybody notice the older show with Susan Cleveland where Susan Cleveland is in the audience as well?

I always scan the audience for familar faces. This heads up will help. Wish I had been there. I keep thinking maybe sometime. It's a long trip and I'd need to plan far in advance.

Oh Ritzy! Many congratulations, and many prayers going your family's way! I know Eli was a miracle, so pray that the babies are doubly blessed!

Annis, your runners are wonderful! You've been busy! As usual!

Geneva, looks like you've been busy, too. I do like that nap blanket with the taggies! What a great idea! I'll have to make a couple of those!

Wow, snow in Texas! I can remember snow flying off of cars when I lived in Colorado Springs. It was always scary, knowing the dangers of it. We DON'T have a law here in Montana, so I see people with a foot of snow on the tops of their cars all the time. I hang way back when following one!

My New Year's resolution was to free motion quilt for about a half an hour every day, so I don't get so rusty in between projects. So far, I've probably spent more time pinning pins of free motion quilting on Pinterest, than I have actually FMQ!

Lucky you Sharon and Nancy. It would be so fun to go to a taping. I will be watching for you when the show is released.

I don't think we have a law here either regarding snow on cars...you just have to have clear windows. Last week my daughter had the rear window of her car shattered by what they think was ice falling off a street light. Thankful both her and the grands were not hurt...it is mighty cold driving around without a window though. Duct tape and plastic to the rescue.

Sharon, I think I may have seen you but I didn't see Nancy. I will be watching that show again. It was so amazing. I learned so much even if I never want to make a two sided quilt. I think you were in the back row on the left hand side of the screen. If Nancy was beside you she was cut off. Guess I am going to have to come to CO for a taping if I want to see you.

Lois, yep we were in the back row and I do believe Nancy got cut off. We are supposed to attend the taping the end of March, but I may have a conflict.
Rita, it is now further for us to go to a taping, before it was about an hour drive for me to Boulder, now its on the south end of Denver and quite a shlep to get there, nearly 2 hours. This will be on a Saturday, so we will have to see.
Those quilts were even more stunning in person.

Wendy, here are the quilt tops I made. The first one is too big for the space. (How dumb am I anyway? ) So it will have to be finished and quilted and hopefully it will find a good home. Also, it's too yellow. I will quilt with another thread color in the yellow to tone it down a bit.

This is the one that I am quilting now. It is coming along nicely. As a side note: I always get paralyzed when it's time to quilt the top. I fret and worry and lay awake at night and finally I just say "I'll quilt it this way!" And usually I rip out some of that stitching, but it really helps me to get over my fear. Does this happen to anyone else?

The theme of these quilts is the sunset off their place in Costa Rica. I have about a week to finish it before we leave for our daughter's wedding in New Jersey. Plus, finish up all the wedding stuff. This wedding is our 4th and final wedding. It's turned out to be the most expensive and the most drama filled. Yikes! Good thing I have quilting to relax me!

It's beautiful, Geneva. I always get nervous about the quilting. But then I often get nervous about every next step. When I am somewhat pleased with one step I am afraid the next step will mess it all up. Right now I am a little bit eager to get to the quilting on my current project. That's a new feeling. Most times I just don't have a clue and this time I have some idea. I want to get to the place where I am eager to do the quilting. But I think I'll always be nervous. Good luck! With that and the wedding. Have fun with both.

Geneva, I think your quilts are both very nice. I am always nervous about the quilting too. Sometimes I leave one hanging on the design wall for several weeks until it finally talks to me. The last top I pieced I still haven't decided what to quilt on it. I moved another unfinished quilt up the pile, quilted it and have a fourth of the binding sewn on. My plan is to just keep busy with something and try not to buy any fabric unless necessary. That will last until June when I am going on a shop hop with my guild. I won't be able to resist them. B)

They are both beautiful, Geneva! I especially like the first one, but I'm really into bright colors. I, too, always stress about the quilting and stay up nights worrying. My difference is that I'm too lazy to rip anything out. I spend that time justifying why I can leave it in instead. I can't wait to see how you quilt these. I know they'll be beautiful!!

I'm sure the wedding will go off well, even after the stresses. Then you can relax for a while!

Beautiful quilts Geneva, and hope the wedding goes well too.

It's great and I love the sunnieness of the first one as well. You just have to start quilting when on a deadline but yes I'm like Lorri and Lois and like to leave it ages and chew it over before quilting. It's pretty hard to just get on and do it. Even after waiting I still unpick, usually when I've done just a bit too much grrrr.

Hope you can enjoy the wedding and it'll go well. 4 weddings! I hope they spaced them

My system of working on a number of projects at once is working well for me. Maybe you'll remember my primary big goal is Gabe's 1st Holy Communion Quilt. As I finished daily or weekly goals on it I have personal permission to work on other easier smaller goals. Since I have last reported I have gotten the entire top on Gabe's quilt permanently machine appliquéd. While accomplishing that I finish my Grand Illusion blocks and shashing segments. I also finished my Bionic Gear Bag.

I love this bag and use it all the time. It holds all the things I need. If I sit in a chair to do a bit of handwork it's by my side. I move from one machine to another often. I do have room to have 2 set up all the time. When I change spots I always have what I need right where I want it. I am ready to go to retreat or a class with less worry regarding packing up.

I wish the pattern were written more efficiently. It was annoying to read through chatter and redundancy when I was looking for specific info. But the pattern is designed wonderfully. All I can say is that if you are going to make it, make sure it's not your first bag.
