This is not Alex's technique but maybe it will help: http://bloominworkshop.wordpress.com...-lemoyne-star/
This is like Alex did, but it doesn't use a compass like she did: http://books.google.com/books?id=ZEW...ar&f=false

Rosemary I took these notes at the time - I am not sure if they make sense, even to me! But maybe they will to you:
Mark out a square the size you want the finished Le Moine star to be. Then use a compass and stretch it from the outside corner to the centre (that's your distance). Now use the compass to mark 2 points from all 4 sides/ 8 registration marks) then join them up.
I don't remember which programme Alex did the demo on does anybody else?

I have enough information of what I need to do now, but I really shouldn't touch doing anything about it before Monday anyway, seeing as there is a Very Important Party happening on Sunday afternoon, and now I have started tidying things up for it it is almost turning into a spring clean as well, particularly for the lounge, hall, kitchen & bathroom (at least I can shut the doors on the bedrooms & sewing room - although I will probably be in & out of the sewing room, there is no way I can get it cleaned & tidied as well)
That said, it is obviously something that would be of use to be able to find easily, & if you do do one of your videos, if it were possible to add a collection of links to the various different methods that have been covered for it all together that would make it easier for everyone else who is interested. As I understand it most of Alex's early classroom videos are no longer of the right format, and either need to be re-formatted or (most likely) re-done, both of which takes time and probably keeps getting pushed back by other projects.

Rosemary, I like the whizzy bit too! But credit needs to go to Mary Kay Davis for the editing and adding that.
I am still working on a PC, and the folks who work behind the scenes at ARJJ all use MACs, so my video editing is not compatible with their stuff so I am at their mercy!!
