I have had the pattern for Wendy Williams’ Round the Garden for months and when Alex announced this class I knew it was time to get this pattern out and get started. I am reducing to 65% so it will fit on a 45” width of fabric that I already have. There is a lot of embroidery in this quilt and I am going to concentrate on the flower ring for these classes. I have done simple embroidery but I’m looking forward to learning new stitches. Instructions said to outline the two inner circles with a running stitch but I am using a chain stitch.

Sandy F, I am so glad you posted your idea. I bought Wendy Williams Round the Garden back last winter when we started her Color My World
BOM. That is a great idea to reduce it to fit the width of fabric. I have a blue Super Nova panel that would be perfect for the background.
Now just to find my pattern and the panel in my messy fabric closet. I started a gray pieced background with black silhouettes to stitch on.

Fun days stitching circles with the stem and chain stitches. Can't wait to learn new stitches and add more layers of stitching! The background is made from Moda Grunge Cottons. Stitching on Grunge is so easy and fun! Stitching with Presencia, size 8, floss. Happy Stitching, All! Karla from Maryland!

I decided on circles after all. I am really enjoying this process. I'm normally a pattern person but Alex always makes me tap into my own creativity and I'm grateful for that. Looking forward to where this piece leads me.

Karla, Your circles are perfect. I especially like how you tied some of them together with arcs. I love that you have so

Was able to sit and create today. I use to emb by hand yrs ago before the invention of the Emb Machine where I just push a button. I so wanted to get bk to it but never found time. I’m finding time. I did two variations of the Blanket stitch around my applique circles and did the chain stitch around the butterfly. Tomorrow I have more time in my day to create more circles and see what developed.

Karla, I like how on 1 circle the inside is not centered. I might steal that!

What a wonderful hostess gift. You could do it by hand but it might take a little longer. I almost always do the stem stitch around my applique. It just seems to finish it.

Sandy, After a deep dive into my fabric closet I found my pattern and Super Nova panel.
I am thinking I will do a mirror image of the half a tree on the other side of the flying geese triangles, and make the bottom half an under water scene. But by the time
I get to it, might totally change. HelenW

I love your fabric. It would be perfect for an under water scene. I haven't decided how much I am going to deviate from the original but I do want to make it personal. I have finished outlining the two inner circles and not sure where to go next.
