I started working on my baskets and found I had a hard time free lancing them so decided to do my own paper piece pattern on the block. Worked great.

Does the template for the scrappy body of the basket seem the right size to you? It seems too big to me. The part you put the handle on is much smaller. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I have been afraid to start because I like some structural assistance. I was just about to do what you did. Thank you for giving me permission.

Finished my pineapple blocks. Yes, tedious but so pretty.

What size did yours finish at?

I decided to take the blk and wht photo after I made my blocks and it really does help with the colors. So before I start my next two blocks I will layout my fabrics to really see the difference in my lite and dark fabrics.

I finally finished my pineapple blocks, whew! Luckily only need 2! They are straight, but I was off to the side to not cast a shadow in the picture.

All done with the first 2 sets of blocks - LOVE the pineapple block which really impressed my family. I had to confess to them how easy it actually was once I got on board with the technique.

I finished my two blocks but I need to know what the block size is on the pineapple block including the quarter inch since I had a hard time making a copy of it from the book. And since I borrowed the book, I didn’t want take it apart.

I'm still trying to force myself to dig in to the Spring Shimmer bundle, but not quite there yet. I've been using left over Jennifer Sampou Winter Shimmer, some Kaffe (of course) etc. I used all Winter Shimmer in my Winter Solstice quilt which was also paper pieced. I quilted this on my sit-down Bernina Q20 with quilting ruler templates. Thank you Alex for being there for the quilting community.

I have the “crazy” part of the baskets done, and I used only my scraps from my pineapple and square in a square blocks to do it! I even sewed pieces together if they were too small to create larger color pieces. It was fun! But one has too many straight seams, I am thinking of adding a piece on the bottom left (green) one to fix that, to make it look more”crazy”.

PS: ( not Nola, lol) ( you must really love your friend Nola to keep seeing that name in place of mine)
