Used David Sirota’s vellum PP method and also used his tip to use dental floss for PERFECT Point joins in the kaleidoscope blocks!

Love this a lot more! Nice combo! I'm the same way-if I'm not happy with something I redo it. Drives me crazy, but that's me.

Worked on next block (Kaleidescope) using freezer paper for a change. Like my baskets- used Karen K Buckley stem making tool for handles and hand stitched down.

Well, all I can say I made 4 baskets in my life….I don’t think I will tackle this block again..it was fun somewhat but piecing the bottom of the basket was not my favorite thing to do either the handles. But at least I learned something new.

I feel the same. The basket blocks took a lot longer than I expected. I do love the choice of fabrics you used. That was a very good choice. I was trying to save that fabric for border possibly but should have done what you did.

Oh! These fabrics are so yummy! I am thinking that they are maybe Kaffe?

Thank you Pamela S. I wanted to use the polka dot fabrics for the background on these, but they way too prominent with the other fabrics in the kit.

I'm going to be traveling for a couple weeks, so I worked ahead on the borders.

Well, I liked this block better than the pineapple block, that is for sure! To sew down the handles of the baskets I used some of my embroidery stitches on my Bernina. That worked out quite well. I am having fun using my stash because I don’t usually work this way, as in never do I do scrappy!

Pink and green baskets' handles had to be outlined.... I need to fix more problems later, but one things for sure, I'm learning a lot about the colors.

Pineapples and fish... For those just trying paper piecing for the first time, I like to add appliqué into pieced quilts. This
was paper pieced pineapples, and then I just took a background piece of fabric the size of two paper pieced blocks
and put fish on them. An easy way to add a little extra interest. HelenW

I've been adding a lot of appliqué to pieced quilts also I think it adds a lot of interest, especially if many blocks are the same pattern. Shows breadth of skill, too!
