Decided to use same fabric in the row as I went out. I also moved dark and lights to get a different look in each block. I’m not sure if it pops or not will wait and see how it all plays out. Enjoying the process.

Finished my Square in a Square blocks last week & and Pineapple Blocks today. Had to just “trust the process“ with the Pineapple blocks. Then I finally could see it worked out! Thanks for the lessons Alex.

Incorporated a TQS ribbon came with Paper Piece Sampler kit. Hardly had any seam allowance, but it's fine for wall hanging.

The paper piecing class that’s been a challenge. Suggestion do not try to sew your pieces while the wind is blowing! Nice fall day…wind blowing in….twisting my fabric under the pressure foot and ME NOT PAYING ATTENTION, this is my layout so far

Just finished my first pineapple block. Wanted to try just using two fabrics. Like it. One more to go. Also finished my 6 square in a square blocks. Lots of scraps so I'm trying to use them up. this will be really scrappy.

I'm making the sampler quilt a bit larger (lap quilt size) so I've increased the size of the blocks. Doing the basket quilt this year helped me to figure out how much to enlarge each block. The square in square blocks are 8" finished and the pineapple blocks are 12" finished. I hope I've calculated correctly! Also, I missed out on the fabric so I'm using this as an opportunity to dive into my stash. As you can see I've got a quite a few Kaffe fabrics. I really like Paper Piecing! I think, for me, the hardest part of making a quilt like this is choosing the fabrics, it takes me forever to make up my mind!!!!

One pineapple down, one to go. Still struggling with the fabrics in the kit. I'm being forced way out of my comfort zone, so I'm calling it a learning experience -- maybe not happy with the blocks, but I'm always happy to learn!

Dotti J, That is a good tip. Always check to make sure a triangle point did not get roll under when placing under the presser foot.
I have been paper piecing for decades and it still happens to me every now and then, and ripping out those tiny stitches are not
                      easy. HelenW
