I did not use a stabilizer, nor a hoop. Just be cognizant of the tension of your stitches.

blocks 2 and 3... I did block 2 in colors opposite each other on the color wheel, and 3 I did with the tertiary colors. lots of fun. I may do a second of each, don't know yet.
