    Special Effects with Color Class

In case you have not noticed it, a new class (under Classroom) started today. It is Special Effects with Color: Special Effects with Color by Christine Barnes. It does not show up under Artistsabove Lauren Vlcek's class (probably a glitch for now) but it you click on Classes, you will see it right at the top of the screen. It looks quite interesting.

Also, I just found this cool web site! Play with color combos here: http://colorschemedesigner.com/

Christine is a friend of mine and belongs to my guild. She had a color class for us but for some reason I was not able to attend. She also had a class for my appliqué group and I also missed that one too.

Thanks, Margo, for another great place to go and play with color. I watched Christine Barnes' introduction this morning and it seems to go well hand-in-hand with Joen Wolfrom's class on Craftsy that I am taking. They cover some of the same ground but it will be nice to see two potentially different perspectives on the same topic. Margarita, isn't your guild lucky to have Christine Barnes as a fellow guild member!

I love Christine Barnes' work. When I went to an Empty Spools Seminar at Asilomar a few years back, she was teaching a color class. On the last day, we all got to walk around and look at other classrooms. Her work and her students' work was amazing. I am looking forward to her lessons. (Oh, I have both her books too!)

Karen and I do not have to go out to take the class and can do it on my own time. Which is great.

I'm so excited that some of you are interested in my color lessons! Understanding and using basic concepts will take you into new territory, I guarantee it, and you will have so much FUN working with color in your quilts. I like to say that it's more about practice than talent, and to see your work evolve is so rewarding. Looking forward to hearing from everyone and seeing what you do!

This is great - I am now reading/studying a book on colour and quilts. However, I think the basic principles of colour apply to every art field.
