Limbania, your quilt is going to look great with those Halloween fabrics.

Laura, thanks for the inspiration. I now have another quilt in progress to add to all of the rest of them. I will try and finish this one though since it will be a great fall quilt.

This is my EQ drawing. The fabric colors aren't perfect but they're close enough. It took me awhile to get the sunflower fabric so the design would be large enough in the blocks. I took the fabrics from a photo instead of scanning them into the computer. I'm going to be fussy cutting all of the sunflowers so probably should cut the border first.

Welcome to the Forum Laura and thank you for sharing your time and knowledge.

Annis, love the layout and fabrics in your quilt. Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers . I also like the secondary design you achieved by changing one fabric color in the QST (Yankee Puzzle) block. Hope you don't mind me using your idea.

Yes it makes a wonderful block with that change, hope it's ok if I have a go at that as well. The quilt is going to be great

Thanks, everyone. You're welcome to use any of my design changes. My computer decided to restart and install updates as I was writing this so had to start over. I must have hit a wrong key. I'm thinking of giving this quilt to my DH for his next milestone b-day next month if it looks masculine enough so need to hurry and finish it. Last night I jumped ahead on the fast flying geese. I'd never made them this way before but this is what worked best with my one-way background print. I found a mistake in the cutting of the star points. They should be 2-3/8" instead of 2-7/8" (the finished height of 1-1/2" plus 7/8"). I wanted to make mine slightly oversized so it took several tries to get the measurements I needed. And I had to search online for the cutting formula since most of my books are packed away. I will wait until classtime to share them.

I love the way so many of you are going outside thebox and extending the number of blocks into a bigger quilt. And changing a triangle's colour here and there works well too.

Annis, did you let Laura know about the miscalulation? I noticed on the pinwheels that the instruction said that we would produce 5 HSTs, but it really only gave 4. I think I wrote a comment on the class page about it. Did anyone else notice that?

I didn't notice that one Terri but I had looked at the PDF for next weeks star block and I had been wondering how the flying geese could be done with 2 7/8" squares. I was getting ahead of myself and have already cut all my squares to that size.

I think Laura has been giving the measurements oversized so you can trim them down. I've been doing mine a bit bigger but they are smaller if you know what I mean (4.5" blocks)
