Terry, is your sandwich for the stitching muslin, then batting of some kind? I just subscribed to your blog to learn more!

Terry, your stitch bible will be so useful. I use mine a lot.

Wendy, I enjoyed your latest blog. Your grandson is so cute! He's getting so big!

Beverly, I used a light cotton fabric--muslin would work--backed with stabilizer. I used that fabric because I had a bunch of it in my stash! I used different stabilizers to see what kind I liked. Then, I found I had a lot of polymesh left over from other projects so I used that on a lot of the pages. If I were starting this process again, I would use a heavy fusible stabilizer like deco bond because the stitches look so much better. Other than making some stitches longer and shorter than the default setting on the machine, I didn't change anything else. I am planning to begin a project soon in which I'll be using my stitch book for inspiration! Thanks for subscribing to my blog!

Thanks for the information, Terry. I can see why decobond would be perfect, and I actually have some on hand! I've signed up for Nancy, Luann, and Wendy's blogs. Have I missed anyone?

I just posted a new blogpost discussing my design process. You can reach it here
While you are there, look at my past two blogs if you haven't seen them where I talk about paints and threads in my stash. Hope everyone is having a lot of fun and enjoying their current projects. I'm currently working on three things...a new "Waiting..." series show quilt; a Hoffman Challenge Quilt; and samples for a book I am writing on applique methods for fabric art. hmy: Sew busy....having fun though.
