What is your favorite batting for domestic quilted quilts?

I am guessing Hobbs 80/20. My last quilt was quilted on Dream cotton. I am hoping for a similar result with an easier time. The last quilt had flannel on the back so maybe without flannel I'd like it better. And I don't know what the quilt will look like when it's washed for the first time. After it shrinks I may not like it so much. Thanks, Jan

I like hobb's 80/20, Quilter's Dream cotton, or a Bamboo/Cotton batting called Naturfil, I think. Warm and Natural seems too heavy to me.

I read somewhere that the 80/20 had changed but all of mine is older so don't know that for sure.

I generally use Warm & Natural or the bamboo batting they have at Joann's (don't remember the brand, maybe Fairfield?). Quilter's Dream cotton feels really nice, but I found that it produced more fluff all over as I quilted, which I find annoying.I've just started using Quilter's Dream wool batting and I love that. I use them all on my domestic. As with all things quilting, "best" is a personal preference and just takes trying different things until you find what you like.

My favorite to date is 50% cotton & 50% bamboo Naturfil by Fairfield. It's so soft and drapes beautifully, but I also really like it's wicking and insulating properties. I still, however, will use 100% cotton Warm & Natural or Warm & White.

Harriet Hargrave sells batting samples. I think they are about 20x20. I don't know if you can tell with that small a size. I sent her an email about changes in the hobbs 80/20 and her suggestion for batting. I ordered her guide to batting, but haven't received it yet. Thanks for all the opinions, Jan
