My LQS owner (Tomorrow's Heirlooms in Westminster, CO) is a Bernina dealer and she just headed to KY (?) for the unveiling of the new Bernina!!! I am meeting with her when she gets back to hear all about the new machine and start considering whether I am ready for another Bernina
. I also registered for the webcast - it will be exciting to see the new machine! Mary Kay

It sounds like they took every wish of a quilter and put it into this machine. I am afraid to even look at it because mine is new and I can't even think of replacing it. I have many features on my machine I haven't even used yet. The larger sewing space sounds wonderful. I can get that by getting a drop in desk.

That is what I am making for Christmas gifts this year.Originally posted by vmckennaI've heard from $500 more than the 730 (my response - yah right
) to over $10,000. I know the new Viking is $9000 so I expect the Bernina to be higher. So, you are probably pretty close. I'm anxious to see what the machine has to offer - not that I'm buying now - but I can dream. I'm not going into debt for my hobbies when I have a machine that is great - but I do wish it had a larger throat and some of the features of the new top of the line machines. I will learn to be satisified with what I have - key word - learn.

I was at a show over the weekend and someone at the Bernina booth had the new bobbin and was showing it...... yes bigger and better!!!! :!: :!: Maybe the list posted above it true!!!! :!: :!: Either way, my birthday is in September and I have started to be really nice to my husband. And he gave me the green light to get it!
.... with the caviot that he was sure I would be understanding when he found something new for his toy box (but to expect the toy box to be really big!) LOL! I am sitting on pins and needles waiting for the webcast!

Did you all see the pictures yet?
http://www.exnovodesign.com/blog.html
It looks so neat, but my only worry is, will it fit in my cabinet?
I'd hate to go through the added expense of a new cabinet on top of this $ for the new machine...
Guess we just need to wait and see

Now I am truly depressed  after seeing the photos and description. Not only is my recent $$$ purchase only 3 months old, the trade in on my exisiting will be much less when the new model will be available in 2009 in Europe. The new model also appears to answer some of the issues I have with the 630E. I am going to go and sulk for awhile.

Roni - Thank goodness I looked at the link you put on the Forum this morning, as I SAW the pictures and got even more excited!!! Tonight when I went back to look, the pictures had been taken down and a note left saying that Bernina wants the blogger to wait until Monday. I am really looking forward to getting the full scoop on Monday! Mary KayOriginally posted by RoniG8Did you all see the pictures yet?

Just got in from my dealer's and he said the lowest allowable price wil be $9995.95............that's 5x the price of my first car and more than my parents first house.........My dealer says he can't understand why someone would pay that much for a domestic sewing machine..........if you want to embroider buy a Brother 620...don't know........I love my 630, Brother Duetta and Bernina 730 and on a fixed income don't know if I really want the new one....we'll see[/b]
