Quilters Slidelock - have you tried this?
I saw an interesting product at the Mancuso show in Denver, earlier this month. It was called a Quilters Slidelock. The story goes that the quilter (wife) was complaining to her husband that her rulers kept slipping while she was cutting strips. He devised a tool to help lock the fabric in place while she was cutting her fabric.
It looked interesting, but I did not buy one at the show (wanted to think about it.) They have a web site and show a demo. http://www.quiltersslidelock.com
Has anyone purchased one (both?) What did you think?

I decided to order the slidelocks. The shipping charges for both were about fourteen dollars - not bad. They are well made and when you press down, they do not move! It is a clever idea, although a bit bulky. They work for cutting strips and other straight cuts.
The folks who make this product will be at the Sew Expo (not sure of the name) at the Denver Merchandise Mart this week. If you buy them at the show, you can skip shipping charges.

If the shipping were only 14 dollars for me that would be great, but being in UK, it would be unlikely :roll:Originally posted by dfrank27I decided to order the slidelocks. Do you have an email address for them? Or a mailing address?Originally posted by dfrank27I decided to order the slidelocks. The shipping charges for both were about fourteen dollars - not bad. Rosemary - yikes! I don't even want to try and imagine how much you have to pay for shipping, duty, etc. There is a spot on their website where you can ask for an international shipping estimate.
“All shipping charges are per USPS Parcel Post rates from Scottsburg, Oregon to destination point.”
Pat - I checked their website (link is listed in initial post on this thread), but I could not find a straightforward "Contact Us" section. They should improve that! I did manage to send a message to them (eventually) by filling out information in the "100% Guarantee" section. I mentioned your request and gave them the link to this forum topic. Hopefully, they will join in soon.
Hope that helps!

Pat - I used a credit card, but I did have to go through the screen to get to that option. They have a Facebook page too. Perhaps you could post something there and they would respond to you.Originally posted by PatTheQuilterThanks. I don't use paypal and need to know how to order using another form of payment.

PS I have been using your product and it works GREAT!!! Your husband did a nice job. One thing that you might consider, is adding a spot for a hanging hook (if possible.) That would allow it to be hung from a pegboard when not in use.
