    Perfect Miters

I was at the Denver Quilt show yesterday, and there was a booth there selling the Minute Miter tools. Has any one used these?? They look like they would be a great way to get perfect mitered corners on your binding, and she also showed how you can stitch in the ditch to get both sides of your binding sewn on the machine rather than by hand, and making sure you get everything even, and catch it all the way around.

I believe Ricky demonstrated this tool in either Series One or Series 2. From what I saw it would be well worth getting.

I got my quilt back from a show the other day and one of the judge's comments was to work on my mitered corners. Got an idea of what show Ricky demoed it on?

I have also been trying to find Ricky's demo. I have managed to master Alex's method but it is no good on quilts that are very heavily machine quilted and need the binding to be a specific size to stop any wavy sides. I just can't find the show. Maggi

            310 is quite a ways away from series 1 & 2.

The tool Ricky used in this episode is not the same thing I was asking about. I may have had the name wrong, it's called Minute Miters, and it is a set of 3 different size tools that help you make perfect bindings and miters on your quilts.

Here is a review of the tools, and description. I would like to know if any one has actually used these and what they thought about them

Thanks for posting the link. I've never seen the Minute Miter before, so can't offer any help. I do know that Martelli makes good product. How are the directions?

I've done it Ricky's way which is also in his book I got at his Seminar. It's using the Binding Miter Tool from Animas Quilting, but you can also just use a ruler. I added some covered cording first in a contrasting color and it turned out beautifully by doing my final stitching on the RIGHT side and having it come out just about perfectly on the back side.

                  Good luck!

Have to admit those tools look interesting . Quilters are an ingenious bunch of folks - always inventing something new!
